Pressing shift does not show any additional part information

I notice that the part menu in the VAB includes an indicator that pressing "shift" will show additional information about a part. This does not occur. I have tried both left and right shift keys, simultaneously and together, and no additional information shows up for any part. Am I missing something, or do I need to make a bug report?

Many parts don't have additional information. I did submit a related report in that the part descriptions on some parts are truncated. If it's a part that has extra information, then shift shows the additional information and the resulting wider window shows the full part description. But if the part doesn't have extra information, I don't see a way to see the complete part description. First part I ran into this on was the FL100 tank.

Some parts have the shift icon darkened to indicate that there is no additional information. That is pretty clear. The problem I am having is that it still doesn't work for parts that don't have the button darkened. I am unable to access any additional information on any part.

That is interesting.  For me, pressing the Left Shift key does bring up additional info.  If you figure it out before someone else does, report back here, I'm guessing you won't be the only one with that issue.

It works after restarting the game, but I don't know what caused the issue. I had been experimenting with various vessels, so perhaps something in the save/load sequence breaks the shift menu.

I have the same issue

The shift not working.. it's a bug, I encountered it also.

Working for me. Unable to reproduce this. Could be a control input issue of some sort?

For me it happened after reverting to VAB during a tutorial.

That might be what it is yeah,. I've had a few control lock issues.

Shift never worked for me so far. Additional infos window looks great, now I want to try again.

I had this problem too a re-install solved it for me. I noticed that for me the unplayability of the game increases steadily but a reinstall sets it back to 0
