Kerbal Space Program 2: Stock Support & Bug Reporting Guide

This guide will explain how to post a proper support request which will help get your issue resolved as soon as possible.

In order to get help with a bug you discovered, there is some basic information which will help us help you.  Who is 'us'?  There are two groups who would like to help you:

  • The developers.  They are working hard to squash these pesky bugs.  But that takes time, and good information!
  • The KSP community.  These are folks just like yourself, who may not be able to change the game code, but may know of workarounds or other ways to help you deal with the bug.

In both cases, we need some basic information, and an good description of the bug.  Here is the information a really helpful bug report will contain:

  • KSP Version
  • Operating System and version  (Windows 10, Windows 11)
  • CPU and GPU models, any other system information which could be relevant
  • Description of the bug.
    • Expected Behavior
    • Observed Behavior
  • Steps to Replicate
  • Fixes / Workarounds (if known..)
  • A list of ALL mods.  If the list is long, please consider using a spoiler window.
  • Other Notes / Screenshots / Log Files (if possible..)

Bug Reporting Guidelines

Each bug report should have it's own thread in the Bug Reports forum.  If you think you've found a bug, PLEASE check the forum to see if there is already a thread about it.  Use the search function, and add to an existing thread if you have new information.  If you feel you have a new bug, make a new post in the Bug Reports thread.

Give as much information as you can, considering the suggested format given above.

Screenshots are often very helpful to developers and other forum users.  A picture is worth a thousand words, right?  To post screenshots on the KSP forum, you will need to use a photo-hosting website, such as Imgur.  Instructions for posting screenshots on the KSP forums can be found HERE <--

If you are posting log files, we ask that you do do a few things to avoid having extremely long posts, which can be difficult to read, especially on mobile devices.

  • For short or moderate sections of log files, please put those inside a 'Spoiler Window', so mobile users don't have to deal with a 'Wall Of Text'.
  • For longer log file sections, please use a file-sharing service, and drop a link to your shared log file into the post.

Be patient, and return to the post to look at recent comments.  If another member has a solution, it may take a day or two for them to read your bug report, and return with a possible solution.
