Landing on bumpy\hilly objects (such as Bop or Gilly)

Hello,

My next destination for a interplanetary mission is Gilly, but I noticed the terrain there is rather hilly and I don't want to land on a steep cliff. I don't want to go through the trouble of finding a landing site that is flat and being precise, so I'm looking for a way to adapt my lander so that it can roll down a hill to a flatter area if it were to land on a hill (Something like the airbags on one of the real-life Mars missions.)

How have the people here coped with landing on hilly terrain?

Wow, I'm surprised that the lander isn't sliding down the hill. Very nice design.

Actually, it was EVER so slightly scooching it's way down, but it was only noticeable if you were paying close attention, on planets with lower gravity, it would probably work just fine.

I highly recommend using seperatrons or RCS to plant yourself on the hill right before touchdown.

this is what I use for landing

Its come down on 20-25 degree slopes before

Just remember to lock the brakes and decouple the landing rockets about 1 sec before touch down, but its not been tried on really steep slopes due to my tendency to do an Apollo 11 ie take over

manual control and fly to somewhere a touch safer while sweating on how much fuel is left

Then drive somewhere flat and await rescue

<<currently has a rescue ship in Duna orbit...,, sadly Kerbals cant jump from the surface to orbit :(
