This is still one of my favorite shots from the Orion Shuttle test flights -

At this point, the primary booster assembly has separated from the Orion shuttle at an altitude of around 57,000 meters. The test flight ended prematurely because I forgot to toggle off cross feeds and the booster assembly sucked the oxidizer out of the Orion, causing its main engines not to ignite. For those of you sci-fi nuts, the Orion Shuttle and its booster are based on the Pan-Am clipper from the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
