Ah great idea!  I actually used two Jr Docking Ports along with a free-moving washer from IR, and depending on how I set the traction control and such I can get it to swing out quite far :P. Although it tends to roll the whole truck at that point... >.>

No problem! It makes for a nice real feel when towing and it's all stock! you may need a leg or SAS to lift it on and off the hinge but hey you have to do that IRL too! :)

Here's a service bay, bigger this time. (The smaller one too small)

Nice! Fitting micro vehicles in service bays is an entertaining task.

A PocketSub Mk II can be considered a form of a rover, and it fit(s) perfectly (barely) in a large service bay.

I call it "The Hulk" &)

Cool, but The hulk would use four engines, so make it more kerbal :D

On another note, I have created a new airdrop rover series, right to left. DobDrop 01, 02, and giant unpilotable monster (03)

Here is my science VTOL rover, very stable on full and near empty fuel tanks. I wanted a wide wheel base and high ground clearance, total of 2000 deltaV, should be able to go from LKO to the MUN if I can figure out how to get it into orbit.

Some pics:

Small demonstration here (Had to remove most of the fuel to raise the TWR):

EDIT: Surprisingly easy to get into orbit, the fairings kept breaking my wheels at some point....and successful landing on the Mun!

I could go on but you'll find the rest over here: https://kerbalx.com/Azimech/craft

Just narrow down the search to "rover".

Here's my Rocker-Bogie suspension based rover.  The system is the type used on the JPL Mars rovers.

Ground tests.

Deploying on the Mun

After a 300km drive, the joints look a bit janky, but I was still able to use it as a bulldozer.  Probably not so good for it.

Here is my little rover.  It's been basically the same since .23  with little updates as science parts changed.  I pack about 2 or 3 of these in my landers and even developed a deployable clam-shell for skycrane-ish drops.  While it lacks the 1 shot experiments, it's great for rover contracts once the crew has departed.  I once drove one from equatorial Ike to it's North Pole to find an anomaly.  Went about 30-35m/s at 2x speed and could handle the jumps and hard landings thanks to the roll cage and SAS power.

I have also have a kerbal Roverisation technique:

It is a sturdy and fast design, with landing legs to flip it the right way over. I have an action grouping to turn off various wheels and turn on rear wheel steering.
