My favorite part of rendezvous is how your orbit is totally crazy compared to the target; way eccentric so that you can get within a couple kilometers. Then you can turn off map view, and just using the navball markers and relative speed, do these sporadic thrusts that put you 30 meters away from the target at 0 relative velocity. When you go back the map view, the orbits have magically aligned. Makes me grin every time.
