4 part station (docking etc) tat fomed the start of my interplanetary space ship.

then i clckied, close game... unfortunately I'm a little tipsy where i thought close game was end flight....

I just died a little inside....

Just reload from your last quicksave. Presumably you HAVE been using the quicksave (F5) option as you go, in case of catastrophe, so as long as you haven't saved AFTER you hit End Flight, it'll be back to normal.

If you just closed KSP.. You should be mostly ok.. The game autosaves every once in a while. So at most you should just have to redo your last launch. If you clicked 'end flight' you're pretty screwed though.

Then I guess playing a game to have fun makes me evil. Because i'm not sure about anyone else, but losing multiple hours worth of work due to a misclick or bug is zero fun and pretty much makes me want to not play any more and go punch things instead.. And I don't play games to just end up frustrated. I have a job for that purpose.

Don't worry - this is how I lost my first two space stations...but yes, you die a little inside...

It's also not a bad idea to make backups of your save folder every once in a while. I wouldn't overdo it, but it can really be a good idea in situations like this.

Fortunately, the game will autosave. Chances are, even if you've never used quicksave, you have a save file with your station intact as long as you haven't played much after the unfortunate incident.

I've done that at least 5 times.

It's a rookie mistake, I put a suggestion to add a gap between end flight and space center to make this rookie mistake happen less, but I think it got buried in the void....
