What did you do in KSP1 today?

I need to see this monstrosity you've created.... :o

I had to start up KSP and this is what I came up with so far . . .

I should be in bed right now but in my bedroom it is 32 degrees celcius <_<

Looking nice. My one concern is excess pilot drag. Kerbals aren't super aerodynamic you know...

Welp, the "monstrosity" as you put it splashed down quite short of the KSC.

Gonna have a redesign....

also 32 C thats not really a habitable temperature is it......

My thousand-ton colony ship finally arrived at Nodens in my 2.5x GPP/GEP career.

Here's the ship making one of a half-dozen burns to slow down, match planes, and intercept Nodens.  Gael is very far away.

The end is in sight.  The first of three burns resulting in a 500 km orbit.

It is finished.  In a circular 500 km orbit around Nodens, second planet around the red dwarf star Grannus.  Brought to you by Karborundum torch drives. :-)

Awesome fuselage, but I suggest replace the nose with a intake and give it smaller wings.

And try to limit parts.

Once again, love the fuselage, very cool

Thank you! I'm already trying out a more minimalist design

Ow yes, now we're talking, you've just made @Cupcake... very proud. ^_^

Edit: Anybody know how high a single Juno can get ?

Game crashed....
Still didn't look to good though. 150 units down, not as far as I would have liked. Ideally, each 100 units is for 1/4 the planet. However, I barely did like maybe 1/6th of Kerbin after 100 units. So..... yeah.

I suspect the issue is that while you can circumnavigate with the panther on wet mode, you use more fuel per second, but travel also significantly farther every second compared to the Juno.

Gonna have to try again.. maybe tomorrow though

If you keep trying though, my advice is fly high. 7000 m seems to be pretty good....

Today my first Minmus landing party returned to Kerbin (who were also my third Mun landing party and prototype mining ship test crew) aboard my first spaceplane.  The mission lasted about 50 days, or nearly 50% of my career to date.  (In large part due to a direct Mun-Minmus path that in retrospect could probably have been done a lot faster via Kerbin.)

OOoo pwetty. According to the wiki, best altitude is like 8000 to 12000 m. Flame out is apparently at 18,300 m.

Good luck, though I'm quickly losing hope

Estimating about 4 000 000 m distance needed to travel, roughly. The best fuel efficiency I saw was 0.03 units per second, which gives about 13000 seconds of time (or about 3.5 hours of flight time). So you would need to average about 307 m/s in order to circumnavigate at that efficiency (which is only an average)

KER does suggest though flying higher gives better burn times at the cost of reduced power (7 kn and 4.5 hours at ~11 km). So its a matter of balance between the two.

Anyways though -

come-on-you-got-this-.gif&f=1

though numbers suggest its quite hard.... <_<

Nah, I'm not losing hope, with a fuel consumption of 0.03 this can work, it will only take forever...

Anyway, I'm stopping my test here.

Finally finished my orbital resource hub. Wanted to make it look unconventional. Nuclear powered, hence no solar panels.

The engines at the back belong to the docked cargo lander, the station itself doesn't have engines.

There's an "HD" button under the gfycat settings (gear icon).

As I posted in the mission reports thread, I had enough time between now and my next final (Monday) that I thought I'd play a session of KSP in my 3.2x GPP save. Here's a couple pictures I did not post in the thread (since it was already very much picture heavy)

In installed Realism Overhaul, including Principia and RSS.  Odd thing -- Principia works fine (on Ubuntu 16.04 MATE 64-bit) if I launch the game from command line within the game's folder, but if I launch from a launcher icon (as I've been doing with KSP, on a couple different Ubuntu versions, since I first got it), Principia can't find its core dll file, principia.so.

Now, off to build and fly something on Earth.  :)
