What did you do in KSP1 today?
I don't know whether I'm using the new jumbo-sized engines correctly; please advise.

Off the ground and flying straight without much deflection. What the problem is?
Tested a deathproof emergency reentry glider (kind of a pegasus, nope DREAMCHASER...). Aerospike and rcs for orbital maneuvering needs. It can deorbit 4 Kerbals alive in any case, selfstabilizing aerodynamics, even absolute noobs can land everywhere successfully.

I've been working on incorporating mini gliders into my rocket designs but for some reason KSP doesnt like reloading them in a VAB :(

Jeb tried out a simple 3-stage Mun Rocket: booster, orbital insertion + transfer stage and direct ascent lander. There's also a descent capsule so maybe its really 4 stages?

Second stage completes the trip to orbit after 1st stage MECO and serves as the transfer stage to low Munar orbit.

Jeb did some hot shot piloting on the way down "Just like when I used to bullseye Kwomp Rats back home"

Jeb stopped showing off long enough to find a flat spot to land.

I ran a full- up test of my career "Munreaper" system, which is designed to harvest almost all of the Mun's and Munmus' science efficiently.
I ran "Caveman" up to tech level 5, then ran contracts for cash to upgrade the facilities. During the "caveman" portion, I gave my landers the ability to dock so that they would be useful in this setup.

Munreaper consists of 4 independent vehicles:

MunTanker: Acts as a docking base and fuel supply for the landers. It holds enough fuel for 10 missions.
MunarScout: A reusable SSTO surface probe with all the science gadgets. Equipped with an antenna for the early going and a docking port for the later missions.
Munar Excursion Vehicle: An SSTO crew lander for manned science, introduced at TL 6.
And finally the MunarClipper: A round trip shuttle from KSC to a station in low munar orbit and back.

With this setup I should be able to recover all the science from the Mun and Minmus in short order, unlocking the entire tech tree.

YOU CANNOT UNSEE!!!

It almost worked, too. Maybe a little trickery with some deploying control surfaces would make it flyable. Although in which direction, the world may never know...

Business as usual: arrivals, departures, course corrections, aerobraking, etc. Giving some thought to starting a career diary in the Mission Reports section, as much to help myself keep track of everything as anything.

Shuttle Belatrix returned from a mission to deliver a rover to Coalwood Base on Minmus, bringing back the base's original crew, engineers Madra and Sheprod, who had been patiently hooking up and refueling Aqualungs for several years since their arrival with the mining rig.

On the way back, Belatrix stopped at the Kerbin fuel depot where shuttle Altair was already docked, resulting in an unusual on-orbit meeting of two shuttles.

Starlet Beatrix (confusion of which with Belatrix has caused nearly as many headaches around the Admin building as the Constance and the Constant) flew its first mission in a while, to make some modifications to a mining rig destined for Dres and deliver a new crew to the Pequod asteroid retriever.

The Pequod departed LKO to chase down a second class-E asteroid discovered in a high Kerbin orbit.

This is not the first time I ever performed a rendezvous in orbit, but it is the first in KSP 1.0.5. Looking out the window, I felt like Jim Lovell during the Gemini 6A and 7 rendezvous mission.

I started this on page 2009 of this thread. Now I finally have an interplanetary tug (or mothership) to pull my lander and my extra fuel tank all the way to Jool and begin the Jool-5 proper.
All that is needed is to refuel it and I'm ready to go. Only 2 flaws with the mothership; the radius of the "Ring" is too small for some fat/large payloads, and it only has about 7.8k delta-V with the current cargo (without getting said cargo's fuel).
It's going to have to do tho, thank god I was able to import and fix the old FTmN-280 Nuclear Engine from "Kommit Nucleonic" mod of 0.25, it cut parts down by a lot for the engines.

Here it is :

I tested a new kind of rocket an air augmented rocket:

made it to orbit

It still need some work on the modeling side.

Didn't do much with KSP yesterday - knocked out another eight of my mods yesterday as either reported working, having unofficial builds available or being willing to test them out myself. Only one left - unfortunately, that one is KER...

Due to severe weather in my area last night I tried to stay off my box, and only got about half an hour or so to play. I spent it working on an airframe design for the Albatross 7-II spaceplane. Orange tanks do not a stable structure make - and the S3 series is barely any better even if you stick them all in a row. That said, I did get the thing into the air a few times. I really wasn't making a serious attempt to build a working plane last night - was just having some serious 'splody fun. Sometimes you need it...

Tonight I might try to get the Albatross 7-II into space, or I'll work on my 1.0.2 career save. My wife is now scheduled to have a baby this coming Thursday - so only two more definite nights of KSP playing in the forseeable future (if I even get that).
