Hab module exploded in route to space station! Jeb was on board.

Ace Space Program has some bad news to report, and some good news. The good news is that our hab module suffered a totally awesome explosion that half of Kerbin witnessed with many ohhs and ahhs.

The bad news is that Jeb was on board.

Amazingly, Jeb is alive! In fact he just posted this photo on his blog, meaning that his funeral proceedings (generously prepared in advance for the launch of every kerbal) had to be hastily canceled.

He is unfortunately, what scientists call, a-heck-of-a-long-way-away-and-moving-fast (AHoaLWAaMF).

Reports of what happened are unclear. Here is a photo of the stage that exploded without provocation. If any amateur rocket scientists could spot any loose bolts or missing struts that could explain such an explosion please contact us, as our engineers have been scratching their heads for a while.

The hab module had just closed within 1km of Foxtrot station, pictured below, and killed all relative velocity. The maneuvering stage had just been separated and deorbited, and when KSP pointed their antennae back at the hab module (unfortunately budget cuts mean that KSP can only observe one craft at a time) it had already exploded.

A rescue mission is hurriedly in the works. As Jeb is AHoaLWAaMF, it will naturally will be the largest rocket ever constructed, and the most unsafe. But that's what every Kerbin signed up for when they were drafte... I mean volunteered. Ace Space Program will keep you updated with semi-regular press bulletins.

Maybe dont put Kerbals in mods when doing manuvers?! (note to self here)

I have seen some mods explode prior to launch; they were overlapping each other; possible stut interaction; baboom.
