Is there some way to make parts in another folder appear in the same category as parts in another folder? I've made additional parts for the B9 pack, but I'm reticent about putting my files straight into the B9 folder, so I got my own, but that means my parts aren't in the B9 category, is there some work-around for this?

I have both the old and new style toolbars, but the new one doesn't actually filter the parts...

I deleted the old PartCatalog folder before installing RC2, and started a new game to test it...

Some problems:

- Autotag doesn't work (comes back with no parts after 30 seconds)

- I can't add more then one category to the bar

I have 1728 parts in the GameData folder.

partString.lua is 4.511.633 bytes

catalog.txt is 0 bytes

lastParts.txt is 29.356 bytes

config.xml. 1.796 byte

I can provide the files upon request.

You can make your own folder, and then put that folder into the main B9 folder. I did something similar to put my own greenhouse parts under the ThunderAerospace tag (the parts are in their own folder, inside the main ThunderAerospace folder, and are therefore read by PartCatalog as belonging to ThunderAerospace). That will keep them obviously separate in your files while still letting the autotag do the work for you, instead of having to manually edit all your parts into the desired tag (which is the other option).

I'm having a few problems of my own with the Small Mods auto-generated top-level tag. The first is that it doesn't seem to properly link to the Small Mods icon by default (it just has the "unknown icon" image instead), although you can use Edit Icon to give it the correct one. The second is that MechJeb2 refuses to be sorted into the Small Mods category, despite having exactly two parts (rather less than my set maximum of 7 parts).

EDIT: Adjusting the maximum number of parts in a "small mod" to 10 caused MechJeb2 to be added to the Small Mods category. Don't ask me why this worked when 7 didn't. My first question still stands.

DOUBLE EDIT: Moving the SmallMods_On and SmallMods_Off .png files from Icons/Mods to Icons fixed the issue with Small Mods not finding the correct icon automatically. Fairly minor, but you might want to fix that for the next release, Necro.

The plugin is great, but I have two minor issues with RC2.

1. I tried to merge NASA parts with the Squad parts and failed miserably, alt-click on NASA and then alt-click on Squad does nothing.

2. NLua references another version of KopiLua than the one provided in the package, not sure if it's an actual issue or not, but it makes compiling impossible if KopiLua is added as a reference, even though it doesn't need to be.

I'm not sure why, but after I removed partcatalog and tried running ksp in windows again, the games loading times are way faster. Fast enough that you would want to cry between loading screens when part catalog was in. So I turned into simple part organizer for now.

Something I would like is automatically adding a new "page" (or column, whatever) for a category. For example with all the mods I run, I can't see all the categories for "ALL > Storage" because there are too many options and the first half a dozen are off the top of the screen; so I have to manually add a "Storage 2" and move some of them there.

I have the same problem.

How did you create the "Storage 2" tag(s)? Did you just create a new one for each mod or is there some trick I'm not aware of?

I did it by creating a new tag and then laboriously moving each item one by one between them using the arrow keys on the settings page. There is probably a smarter way to do it, though... :rolleyes:

I don't believe that curse is the new "official" modding platform. Modders should read the T&C of the site prior to posting their mods there.

Exactly what do you mean by that? Squad has explicitly partnered with Curse for mod hosting, it doesn't get more official than that. Are you saying that you don't believe that Curse should be recognized as the new official mod hosting platform?

This plugin is no longer available ? for 0.23.5.

Version 2.4 was hosted on Spaceport, and has not been uploaded elsewhere yet by the mod author. The version 3.0 RC2 (which I personally like quite a lot better than 2.4), which is linked from the first post (right at the top), was hosted on Dropbox by the author when originally posted some time ago and is still available.

Sorry for being a bit inactive lately guys; University and the like are taking their toll.

I have uploaded a new Release Candidate (I'm not pushing for a final v2 release until I have enough time to write some proper documentation, properly host the project on curse or whatever etc.)

You can get RC3 here.

Changes in this version:

Fixed shift shortcut for selecting parttags greater than 10 with keyboard.

Right clicking on the search icon now clears the current search.

Added a paging option for categories to counter too long lists as a result of many mods, to enable it have a look at the settings page - max subtags per tag slider

Autotag doesn't work, no category are generated.

I can't add more then one category to the bar.

The one category I can add manual and put parts in, is showing no parts in VAB.

So, no parts in the VAB, no matter what I do.

Using RC3.

You made sure you did a clean install? Double checked the release version on a vanilla game and it works flawless.

If that still makes some problems hit me up on the kspmodders irc channel to get this solved quickly.

After playing around with more and more mods for some hours I think there is a limit for part count I am hitting with PartCatalog. In the logs are errors pointing in this direction.

Not a part count problem, but rather a bug with KSPAPIExtensions (probably not expecting the part list to be empty which it is both when filtering too much or when the catalog is initializing the filterset).

Ok so yeh this would appear to be a problem.

I think what's going on is that the part list is empty, so KSP doesn't initialize the field type prefabs.

I really need to register my override controls there, otherwise parts get loaded up and the registration fails.

Is this only when all the parts are (initially) hidden?

Can you leave it a few update frames to hide the parts so that the controls are there to override?
