...does it handle loading in the new part after creation, or do we still need to restart the game each time? ^^;

Up to you. You can risk and enable the reload of the gamedatabase in the settings, but there is no guarantee that it will work flawless, especial in case of heavy modded games.

Ahh, OK, didn't realise it was a risk :) might try it and see how it goes! How bad can it be...

Worst that can happen is: The database gets not reloaded completly and properly and parts are missing and the game will tell you that some crafts can no longer be maintained. But that is highly depending on the amount of mods and MM patches.

Hi, that is not a known and old problem of some partpacks but has nothing to do with welding.

There is a common fix for it.

Thanks for updating this for 0.90!

This is my first try so I'd appreciate some advise...

I try to build a simple sky crane using only stock parts (not even tweak scale): probe core, reaction wheel, battery, clamp-o-tron, 1+3x tanks, 3x 24-77 engine, 3x 1x6 solar panel and 3x flood light.

All 3x parts are in 120 degree symmetry.

I see some strange effects:

  • 2 of 3 lights are lit and can't be turned off. 1 light, the one in position I've placed them with 3x symmetry in editor, can be turned on/off.
  • 2 of 3 solar panels are fixed and closed. Seem to be really closed.
  • One (again where I've placed in editor) is twisted in a strange way. Seems to be open, charges the battery.
  • Heat production / radiation is messed up somehow. Total heat production of the engines is 3x150, seems to be right. However it overheats and explodes quickly. Of course I can decrease the heat production by hand then it is fine.
  • Fuel consumption is very unbalanced. Liquid fuel is used much more faster than oxidizer, 3.4 / 1.4, original engines have 0.73 / 0.89 so in total it should be approx 2.2 / 2.67.

Hi Kubi,

the problems you meantion are some leacy things that we still didn't find a workaround for.

The Basic rules are:

  • If you want to weld animated parts never use more than one.
  • If you want to weld lights never use more than one.
  • If you want to weld engines never use more than one, it still may break the part.

About the max temperature you can find the setting for how it shall be calculated, like the breaking torque/force in the settings option in the main window of the weldingtool.

Hi guys,

I'm experiencing a problem using the welder tool to build custom frames out of wing surfaces. After designing a structure and welding it, the welder part looks like this:

It appears as though the orientation settings are not carrying over. The nodes are all in the right places and the parts are rendering right, but the rotation, offset, etc. are gone.

Is there a way to fix this?

Did you use the new offset and rotationtools or ust the old pre 0.9 way?

I never welded wings before, I will look into it.

I have been trying to use this mod, but I keep getting weirdness. KSP gets hung up on a file when loading, my camera flies up into space at launch, etc. I'm pretty sure I installed it correctly, but this would help.
