For the new version (it will take a while since I want a polished version), I am trying to avoid having that database reload.

Until then, on the first post it is describe that you can desactivate the auto reload.

Configuration

The configuration file is in GameData\UbioWeldingLtd\PluginData\UbioWeldingLtd\ config.xml.

You can deactivate the auto reload of the database (useful if you have lot of mods)

I am sorry for the lack of more support and info at the moment, I am still travelling around and not settle at the moment.

What is the exact reason for slowdown with large part counts?? It seems to work well for me up to about 1000 parts, but now tried to weld a 2800part space station module and it ran at less than 5fps with it eventually crashing due to being out of memory.

Is it because of all the connection spots or has it to do with how KSP handles textures? Here is a screenshot: http://s14.postimg.org/pby9jf8lb/screenshot185.png

Either way I really love this mod.

That's not so good, have you tried to delete all unnecessary nodes in the craft file? That improved my performace in the vab. And are you sure you have the latest version of the mod? My Robot had over 2300 parts (2-3 fps), welded it into 14 big ones, like the arms, legs, head, body and put it together, then added Infernal Robotics and lights. Now it's about 250 parts and the performane is "ok" (10-20 fps). So this mod was really helpfull for me.

Is there any tutorial or something that shows how to delete the nodes?? I think this is my issue as well.

And that Mech is by the way amazing job.

So, I have been getting some good practice with part welding, and have a part I am generally quite happy with,

What is happening, such that the landing legs are not binding to the skin of the storage compartment, but rather are off in empty space like that? How can I fix it. Part code included for reference.

Can anyone who is more experienced with partwelding tell me what is going on with my Docking ports?

They have an hex Setup with symmetry, everything works fine so far only the ports look in any direction except the correct one.

I have no Problem with Fixing this manually in the part.cfg file I just Need someone who tells me what is wrong with it.

it uses KW rockety parts but only for the RCS tanks and anything else is pure stock parts.

So, from what I gather you're trying to attach landing legs to your welded resource structure and the legs are not attaching properly with the part's edge. I believe that this is due to your welded part not being centered.

See position of this part:

I assume you started with the contents of your part and then added the streamlined cargo bay NotheSerCom part on top of it to contain everything. I recommend you make the contents a subassembly, then start a new part starting with the NotheSerCom part, attach subassembly, then weld. Check the part.cfg to see that this part is centered with the X,Z values of the position at 0,0 or near zero (number ending with an E) and see if that fixes your landing leg problem.

I will try that, but out of curiosity, would adjusting every part by -0.9553684,0,+0.3435089 have the same effect?

Yes, I just didn't know if you wanted to do it manually. And thanks for correcting me on the X and Z values. I mistakenly referenced the Y value which is the height in the VAB and would not have have helped in this case.

EDIT: and don't forget to modify the NODE points while you're at it.

These obstructed docking nodes are so strange. the nodes are just having direction vector for up and down and the Rotation of the parts Looks ok. Also i made an Special save file only for having it centered at 0,y,0.

So, the reason I asked is that I whipped up a little (and quite inelegant) PERL script to do the fixing, which might help people in a similar situation in the future:

OK Looks like I found the Problem with the Docking ports in the welded craft.

WeldingTool seems to have Problems identifing the direction of the ports as soon as they are non direct x or yo z axis bound.

So I will fix that manually with the nodes.
