Scott Manley did indeed help me. Most notably with his rendezvous and docking tutorial.

Strictly speaking, his tutorials aren't the best. I had to watch them several times to figure it out. However some of the best tutorials are very hard to watch. Manely's presentation is very good and along with his accent it sets him apart. I get the impression that he would make an excellent public speaker.

I haven't watched all of his videos, but enough that my wife chuckles when she hears Haloooo eminating from my tablet or computer.

No, by the time Scott Manley became big i had already been playing for a while, also, i prefer text tutorials since i can do those at my own speed, instead of having to pause/rewind while playing a game.

I still enjoy watching his videos though.

EDIT: I did enjoy

rendevous/docking tutorial though, and i think it is the best one i have seen. Short and sweet.

Also, the 'This is like a huge metaphor for sex.' comment cracks me up.

Pebblegarden's videos taught me the basics and now I've turned to Mr Manley for advanced concepts, mainly phase angles and interplanetary transfer burns & course vectors. And his style is wholly friendly and informative and doesn't make you feel stupid or 'unworthy' to play KSP, plus he can be funny sometimes too which is always a good thing!

Watching his videos helped me greatly in KSP.

1. I now know how to build decent rockets.

2. I know how to reach Mun.

3. I know how to make a freaking orbit!

4. I kinda know how to dock? Haven't tried it yet, 'cause I didn't map the controls for moving in docking mode (How do I move left and right?).

5. Thanks to him, I could make my own Mun base copying his methods on landing. Thought it's a little hard since I don't use Mechjeb, but, it's awesome making it manual!

No actually, trying to follow the few bits of of Scott Manley's advice I tried out has actually inhibited me. Especially the '15,000m; tilt over' part. Most of my rockets require a lot more upwards velocity before they tilt over.

When 0.18 first came out, he really helped me and taught me the concept of how to orbit for rendezvous with another craft.
