Jeb's Sunglasses Test

You can\'t land on the mun as far as I know, its just a texture, light source and gravity well right now. Might be wrong however. You can go straight into the heart of the sun though!

you can land on the mun. its dificult to do without exlpoding or modded parts, but you can slam straight into it in a prettyfull explosion.

Once you get the Pe down below a million you get around 187km/sec. When I find some spare time I\'ll try shooting out past Kerbal, see if I can quadruple the distance travelled... I\'m interested to know what happens when you approach 300km/sec.

If you go straight into the sun, no horizontal velocity, then it bugs out and spits you out at over the speed of light.

I don\'t think its over light-speed; every time I tried it I couldn\'t get over 15million m/s. Thats very fast, but its not faster than C.

I managed- I think the trick is to make sure that your horizontal velocity is as low as possible-mine was under 0.1m/s

Yeah, I zeroed my horizontal velocity. Definitely had it under 0.5m/s. I think there\'s more to it, like perhaps it has to do with how far out the apoapsis of your original solar orbit is. I would imagine you would get going faster it you zeroed your horizontal velocity at a higher altitude.

I may have also screwed it up, because as I passed through the sun, I used up the last bit of fuel I had to try to speed up. Perhaps I accidentally added some horizontal velocity, and screwed it all up.
