I seem to be experiencing crashes with MCE when in editor mode. I am using Preview 3, though Preview 2 had the same problem. I'm using KSP x64. To reproduce the crash, I start KSP, go into the VAB, then try to load a ship. The crash occurs whether nor not I have ships saved in my Ships/VAB directory.

Here are my output logs:

========== END OF STACKTRACE ===========

**** Crash! ****

I consistently crash on the line "On Contract Loaded event fired at startup."

Please let me know if you need more information.

Thanks for making a great mod, I look forward to more satellite repair missions, scanning, and the new Agena mission too. :)

I need your outputlog file not the crash file. All this tells me is that your crashing on startup. The startup reference is just an indication on when the startup, and contracts for KSP are fired.

What other mods are you using? Etc.

64Bit if your using 64bit ksp is \Kerbal Space Program\KSP_x64_Data

32Bit if your using 32bit ksp is \Kerbal Space Program\KSP_Data

both versions are called Output_log.txt

I also suggest if your using a lot of mods, not to use 64bit. I can see Tac life support trying to load to in that CrashFile.

Could you please add a option to disable the revert button? As much as its an excellent option to the default revert system, I like to play on a revert free game, and yes just not clicking it is an option however my toolbar is getting a bit crowed, and i'm not sure if i could resit the temptation  (Those engineers better get it right the first time before they dare strap Jeb inside a creation :D). Either way thanks for the excellent mod!

Oh yes, I will do that for ya.

I'm having this crash as well. Not just in VAB, but other spaces as well. When I loaded and used the NCE preview last night, I had no problems. I downloaded and installed the MCE from Curse today. Then the crashes began. Consistently. I tested with my established career game, but also with a new sandbox game. Problems occur more frequently with the career game.

To determine the problem, I started with a clean GameData (Squad, NASA Missions) and started adding mods back in a couple at a time. Problems started happening intermittently when I loaded MCE. Backed-out MCE and problems did not occur. I thought NovaPunch 2 might be a problem as well. there may be an interaction between NP and MCE that causes the problem, but I doubt it.

You guys might want to clear out any old contracts you have to.

1. Alt-F12

2. Select Contracts tab.

3. Select Tools.

4. Select Clear Current contracts.

5. This will wipe any old contracts and refresh the whole list.

Also if you have a contract that is loaded, this info would help. Could also be the problem if a contract has a bad value or something.

My own test have shown that Multiple mods mixed in KSP 64 bit crashes all the time. No joke, I don't even play KSP 64 with normal game.

I do test MCE in the 64bit environment though ALL BY ITSELF. NOT ONE SINGLE OTHER MOD installed and I barely get crashes.

Moral of story is 64 is pretty Unreliable. And if thats a mix of MCE and other mods I don't know but 32 bit works fine on my end. And by itself in 64 bit works most of time.

My crashes are intermittent. I am also using 64-bit version.

Ya the problem is 64 bit part. I can run 64 bit once and play all day long. Then shut it down load it back up and bam crash... Load it up crash. Again play all day. The issue is 64 bit compounded by the mods themselves running. I have checked my log files myself. Sometimes its crashes right when Kerbal alarm clock is doing something, sometimes its TAC life support. Sometimes its MCE... Its impossible for me to figure it out with other mods running.

But If I place MCE all by itself and no other mods. And I really mean none! Just MCE and KSP I usually don't run into problems.

Best bet is to play 32 Bit for now I think if you have mods. :( Or if you get a lucky load with 64 bit your usually all set.

well, the game has been steady, even as I add mods. we'll see.

On another note: I'm going to have to semi-cheat for the second mission of the Agena mini-story. In the first mission, I orbited a rocket/Agena with the Clamp-o-Tron port, as required. However, the second mission, Docking with the Agena, requires that I dock with a different satellite that I orbited much earlier. The problem? It has a Clamp-o-Tron Jr. port.

So, I have three options:

Option 1) Fly the second mission with a C-o-T Jr. (facing outwards) to dock with the satellite. On top of it, I'll place a C-o-T (facing to mission rocket). I'll have another C-o-T attached to the mission rocket; I'll use it to dock with the C-o-T facing the mission rocket.

Option 2) Dock with the non-Agena satellite (using C-o-T Jr). However, I'll have a C-o-T attached to the side of the mission rocket; I'll not use it to dock.

Option 3) Dock with the Agena rocket I orbited using a C-o-T. Complete all mission steps. I won't be credited, so I'll Alt-F12/Contracts. Then, click the Complete button for the contract.

I'm going with Option 3.

#1 found a bug with the new ATV missions: if you accept mission one the next launched vehicle will count as the ATV. in my case I accepted the contract and two ground testing. So I launched first a ground test vehicle. the messaging system was showing me the vehicle as "ATV launched". After that I launched my ATV in orbit and done the other requirements. mission 1 was finished, but the contracts show me now the second mission as "dock with ground testing vehicle". which is bad anyway, because the ground vehicle is already reverted and had no docking port :D

Screens:

Javascript is disabled. View full album

Specs:

- KSP 0.24.2 (win x64)

- MCE Pre3 (default config)

#2 I also got some crashes since I installed MCE. But it's quiet random when it happens. Last time I just activated the CoM display in SPH:

- output_log

#3 I would suggest to increase the rewards for the MCE contracts, because it it's nearly impossible to earn more funds form it than you have spend into the vehicle. And the amounts of science and rep points you can earn from the MCE contracts are not worth any effort, compared to stock.

Sure, the stock rewards are overpowered, but guess it would be better to keep the rewards with the stock values until squad tweaked them. It's a question of "do more, eran less" (MCE) between "do less, eran more" (stock).

The next version makes it pretty clear that you need to Do the ATV mission first before any other. ;)

Are you using 64 bit? Because like I said to some others its best to use 32 bits. I just spent hour launching 64 Bit Version of KSP with a bunch of mods with MCE and had crashes even before load. I also unistalled MCE and still had the same crashes. 64 bit is not friendly I tell ya. But I can play 64 Bit with just MCE and NO other mod without much difficulty. This is my current list of Mods I play normal.

Ok, then forget about #2. Seems like it's a random bug/crash on x64.

How I can fix the ATV contract now?

And what's about to add a part to identify the ATV as ATV or something else? I kinda don't like the idea of "if you pick this contract you have to do it first"-conception. Or get I something wrong what you have planed with this story line contracts?

Anyway, nice mod. Thanks for your work :)

Well the easiest way is to edit your persistent file. It will require you to do the Contract over though! Pretty easy steps.

Open the persistent file (don't forget back it up first) with NOTEPAD

When opened go to Edit then select Find (Or just press F3)

In the search box type this without quotes "agena1done"

when you go to the name change it from true to false.

In the next version I added Debug Tools that do this automatically but You would have to wait for that to come out.

Thats it. ;)

Thanks, but I would like to use my already launched ATV in space to continue. Is there no way to simply change the target vessel for the second contract?

And it would be nice if you say something to the low reward "issue" :) It's a litle bit odd to do part testing contracts only to earn funds for the MCE contracts. And I'm really not bad in constructing efficent vehicles. As example my ATV has two test-part-payloads just to be not a fund-loss.

No not right now. The mission records the vesselid to the system. But like I said I have debug code in next version that fixes this. next version all you have to do is open up debug tools go to the agena vessel you want as target, and press button to set it as target.

Again, I can see the way contracts working as being a problem. If you accept the Agena Target Vessel Mission, and say also another mission. You do the Other mission first with another vehicle. Since Agena is active it will record that first vessel as the ATV Vessel. And will cause problems.

I will try to come up with a way for this not to happen. My suggestion is When you select the Agena Mission. DO IT. Don't do any other contract before it. ;)

I updated the front post to suggest this. I'm thinking of maybe adding a popup that notifies you if you want to record this vessel as Agena Target Vehicle. I do some test.

Thank you for clarifying that. I had done another parts test mission between accepting the ATV contract and launching the ATV. Since the second ship was recognized as the ATV for the purposes of that contract, it never occurred to me that the first ship (which had been recovered) was the target.

Just completed ATV contracts, very nice! You should talk to Frizzank about that - it would be extra cool to use actual Gemini and Agena.

:) no reason you can't. Just download his parts and use his parts. :) I can make an Or Statement to include his docking port as candidate part. Been thinking using module docking instead of a Named Docking port anyway.

Preview Version 3B

1. Added warning to Agena Target Contract Informing you that you have to do Contract right away when accepted and no other. Its written in Description and you get a Message in the message system.. Can't miss it!

2. Changed Agena Docking Requirement to any Docking Port that uses Vanilla Module "ModuleDockingNode".

3. Added a new config option to turn off MCE Revert Button, in case you want to be real hardcore!

4. Opened up Debug Window and added Agena Debugging Tools. You can unlock Debug by changing the config file option.

5. Increased the payouts for most missions.

My new install instructions for MissionController.

Since Mission Controller is now Persistent I highly suggest you delete the whole MissionControllerEC folder before installing a new version. You will have to reset your config file back to your settings, but this will help Im sure with any strange issues that might arise and keep everyone on an even playing field with issues.

Also: Might be best to clean out your old Contracts And reload offered ones.

1. Alt-F12

2. Select Contracts tab.

3. Select Tools.

4. Select Clear Current contracts.

5. This will wipe any old contracts and refresh the whole list.

This WILL NOT delete you completed Contracts only offered ones and Active ones.

Thanks Malkuth.

You can do it already, it's your choice. But I would not like to be forced to launch only the original ATV or whatever, instead of own built.

Is there really no way to identify the ATV another way? As example, if you have finished all conditions of the first contract the plugin will set this vessel as ATV for the next contract. Guess there must be a better mechanic that does not feel like game mechanic breaking.
