Hey, another question :P Mechjeb is telling me I have more delta-v for the vista fusion engine when i am at higher throttles, this is (probably) wrong, so is there any way i can guess my delta v

(I have a ship with 1 3.25 Metre reactor+ generator and 4 tanks of 2.5 metre liquid fuel)

Fractal_UK, im seeing issues with Plasma Thrusters not producing even thrust, I have been slowly building up a network of relays and reactors and as the amount of power and thrust has increased I have noticed that the craft tends to turn to one side or the other depending on which of the 2 thrusters I placed first, also occurs with symmetry. When looking at the numbers they appear the same yet the craft seems to have a slight turn based on the first engine installed.

In this picture I installed the engine on top(left in VAB) first and the bottom(right in VAB) one second.

If you're running a ship at 100% power, the plasma engines may get fractionally different quantities of power, the effect is very small - too small even to see on the power management display but when you're dealing with a very large number a tiny change can make a lot of difference.

If you turn your throttle down to 99%, you should see this effect go away.

Even at 1/4 throttle I am still seeing it.

So I exited game and did a few other things restart the game to play around with it more and now the craft flies alot better, it just barely turns to the side.... :mad:

I have had this same issue with other craft, I have been running tugs for about 2 weeks now doing a large mining operation on the Mun.

A small addendum to the changelog: Linux x64 players noted some issues with loading the previous version. Just before release I conducted a quick test of the latest version using the Linux x64 version and had no issues, so I assume whatever was causing that problem has been resolved in 0.10.

Seems like a bug in antimatter initiated reactor config:

Steam thrusters were considered but rapidly scrapped because it takes a lot of power to keep water at a boil compared to a monopropellant which uses none and only a few watts to fire. Energy density is also an issue and although I don't have the numbers with me I can guarantee that the specific impulse of hydrazine (the real world monopropellant represented in KSP) is far greater than water. Plus having water inboard is probably much more useful for drinking than flying. Good thoughts bad concept

I'm not so sure about that. If you put water through a NERVA it decomposes to hydrogen and oxygen and gets a higher specific impulse than you'd think, something like 50% of just pure hydrogen. And that's just an example that I was quoting because it's in a book I love.

But my general point is that, regardless of how it's actually implemented, I find it odd that we have all these futuristic devices and yet we're still burning monopropellant. But as Fractal_UK has said, the problem is less of a want to do it and more of a not finding a good way to code it. I can only hope this changes in the future!

Great new release it seems ;) Wonderfull. A question about ressources -a are we on the way to officially integrate with other mods by using "common ressoure defnnitions"?

Not been using too much of KSPI so far (more of a career mode + no time thing so I am stuck now trying to set up a kethane mining operation on the mun) but I love the new options ;)

Your reactor is full of actinides, you need to get rid of those (by reprocessing) before you can refuel.

It will be in the next update.

Thanks for your patience with all these questions. :) I (wrongly) thought that actinides would be transferred into the depletedfuel container. So I will need to first reprocess these actinides into depletedfuel then I can bring the UF4 over.

Maybe to help out people (like me :P), an error could show (maybe with the big centered green text) telling you there's no room in the reactor or something.

Anyway, thanks again for this mod. Even though it's a little complicated at first, I really enjoy all these bits of detail everywhere.

Would it be possible for you to implement upgrading parts via the tech tree? Maybe by having a hidden "relock part" and then you unlock a new part?

Not sure what you mean, parts are already upgraded via the tech tree. If you mean parts already on a ship that has to be done on a per-part basis. It would be nice for example to send a new mission there and upgrade it for free as an alternative, but the prices at the moment are very low.

Seems like a bug in antimatter initiated reactor config:

They are changed without any problem on already launched vessels, but i had problems loading saved craft with them (they load, but partially without this containers and without root part) and had to use old version to remove them from the craft.

Yes, i've changed this in my cfg, the reactor does not work at all without this change.

A question about IR telescope:

It's written that G-lens require at least 548 AU. In terms & measures of Kerbol system - how far is it?

Do the satellite dishes from RT2 have enough range to cover this distance for science transfer?

Also, does the science yield from this telescope depend on orbit height or whatever?
