I play KSP missions vanilla, "not because they are easy, but because they are hard"

How about you?

P.S. Thanks to JFK.

P.S.S. I've changed my mind. Mods open up many new areas that are pretty much inaccessible to vanilla/stock.

I use MechJeb and installed a bunch of parts mods, even edited some engines so I had something in-between the Skipper and Mainsail. I did this not because it made things easier, but because I wanted to.

I use mods that add good things to the game, for example the Editor Tools and Subassembly Manager.

I've been trying to avoid too many mods recently, because I can get burned out from too much stuff to try and use (e.g. B9 Aerospace).

I like your thinking, Gus. People who dislike mods just for the sake of disliking them confuse me, but people who don't use them because they enjoy the challenge of going pure stock are people I can respect, especially as a mod creator. :)

I mostly do that, but I see a difference between "boring hard" and "interesting hard." Using mods to dodge the boring parts sometimes makes new, interesting challenges accessible without excessive tedium. And, of course, some mods make almost everything harder, but do it in interesting ways -- F.A.R. being my favorite example.

I only use a few utility mods, such as Mechjeb (not for the autopilot!!), KAS, and Quantum struts. But I don't use any part packs since I like to keep my ships as stock as possible. As many of them seem to be based off of real life rockets, not KSP rockets. Thus, you end up with way OP parts, such as an SRB that can bring you all the way to orbit.

I play stock mostly because I like to see what I can achieve in the vanilla game. Obviously the mods that are made are fantastic and offer entirely new ways of going at it, but that's just my personal preference.

To everybody who thinks "stock is hard" I'd suggest to install FAR and DeadlyReentry and try to reach orbit and get back in one piece. THEN we'll see what is harder and what is not.

Eh, FAR makes getting to orbit simple, you just have to respect its rules. DE isn't exactly deadly either if you do the same.

Personally, I think using engines at all is too easy, modded or not. I'm currently working on a spacecraft that can get into space using only decouplers / separators and explosions.

I like the cut of your jib, sir.

To be fair, it stops people from bombing into the atmosphere with a huge unshielded base ready to go, like I bet some purists do often with their craft. Also Ioncross is really awesome.

Explosions are overrated :P

(It is stock.)

Ok, so it can't get into orbit. But never mind.
