Hey! That's the brand TV my kerbals use! (however the logo is wrong)

see?

Whoops!! I had no idea....I thought I had an original idea happening! :(

I hope its okay if I use that...I didn't know it was taken!

Hey, by the way, does anyone know how to actually play a movie clip, ie .mp4, in blender? I want to actually render a short clip of the television set, with a clip actually playing on it. I'm using the cycles render engine..so far, I haven't found anything useful on how to do this. Do any of you guys know how?

Again...some great work happening here! Wow!

Well, seeing as I shot down your Creativity. Here's a tutorial on how to do that (that i made for you)

Make sure you watch with annotations on. because that's how I show you what's what.

and yes, my mousewheel can still register middle clicks, just not scrolling (making it a pain in the rectum to work in blender)

EDIT: and yes, you can use the Kerb-vision brand TV.

Just putting this here because I'm bored. I'm working on a Minecraft movie, if you didn't know that already. Finally got a proper IK Target rig on the darn thing... now for the shape key driver bones. Lovely.

EDIT

A few minutes of deleting and adding blurs and:

Presto, Herobrine.

Here's another one. This time I used copy-paste for the first time. :P

I also put both cups on a diorama-like structure, with a vertical plane with an emissive texture on the left, and a black one on the right, so the bright side would look brighter.

What do you guys think about it? Any suggestions?

welcome to the future. unmanned space plane command pod with built in air intake. this could actually be used in game. it's a little high on the poly count, but since you'll probably only use one on a vessel, it's not really all that detrimental.

Looks B9ish. Maybe it could be used for 1.25m planes...

So, I don't suppose I could cajole somebody more experienced with rigging in Blender than I to take a look at why, when I try to rig my kerbal model, a portion of its "chest" doesn't seem to latch onto the rig? >_>

Oh, if you have the armatures set to the object already, go into weight paint mode to add in the area that's not moving to that bone.

so in short.

Select the mesh

hit [sHIFT]+[TAB]

Set the brush type to "add"

select the bone that you want to move that section of mesh

Paint in the verts you want to move.

Just something I cooked up out of thin air. Comes in at a modest 300 faces, full geometry detail. I'd say it could either be ion or a series of mini aerospike jets.

I could probably make this backing into an intake, then there'd be no need for an independent intake.

Points: 346

Edges: 673

Faces: 329

not really a big deal.

I think face measurements matter more when you're talking about quads, than triangles, since multiple triangles can fill the area of a single surface and create an unneeded amount of vertices/faces.
