How do I edit Kerbal names by hand?

2 ways

crew manifest mod.

or

-start a mission with crew

-quicksave

-keep game up and open the ksp directory

-open saves folder

-open save file you want

-open quicksave in word editing program

-press "ctr + f" and type a kerbal in the flight's name

-change his name to what ever you want

-you can also change his stats

-save the changes

-quickload the game

-profit
