I never asked fro option to dock docking ports in VAB. I asked for couplers to couple - in simulation, not VAB/SPH - regardless which side they are facing.

1.2 will not change the way multicouplers work. It will allow you to autostrut parts in flight and in the editor to increase structural rigidity. You can accomplish this now in the editor by strutting across your multicouplers.

I can tell you now that 1.2 does not change this behavior. 

Can I suggest that you rename the parts from "coupler" > "splitter". I don't see where its hyperbole, a "coupler" reads as advertizement to work both ways. A "splitter" - not. One can also "split" and couple the two "live".
