How to transfer fuel in orbit

Hi all I've been dabbling and playing the game for a while now and I've ended up with three ships docked in orbit but I cannot seem to transfer fuel from or to any of the three, I have searched this forum but to no avail, any pointers much appreciated......

On a PC, press the ALT key, then right-click the 2 tanks you want to use to exchange fuel .

then choose "In" or "Out" and watch it go

By the way, if there is some part that doesn't support fuel crossfeed between a docking port and fuel tank, would fuel transfer work?

It would still work. fuel crossfeed is a different thing entirely.

Let's say the "+" is a fuel tank and "=" is a non-tank part that supports crossfeed and "-" is one that doesn't support fuel crossfeed. "<" is an engine.

In this set up: +=+< The fuel tank at the top of the rocket will drain and the second fuel tank will drain when the top one is empty. Both tanks drain.

In this set up: +-+< Only the fuel tank by the engine will drain, while the top tank will remain filled.

In fuel transfer via alt clicking, You can transfer fuel between any existing tank that is connected, regardless of crossfeed capable parts.
