As MeCripp says, you can put patches anywhere, but I put mine in a "ZZZ_Unofficial_Patches" folder -- that way, I never forget where they are in case I feel like changing them, and they don't get accidentally deleted when I update things.

Edit: what should the patch(es) be named in order for the mod to detect and apply?

(?.cfg)

or does it automatically apply to the specific mod based on the text within the .cfg no matter the name?

Changed textures to DDS added tag,bulkheadProfiles,changed maxtemp , updated the KIS and KAS MODULE and changed the light to use the stock light MODULE
