Ferram Aerospace Research vs Stock

Well you have to keep in mind that a vehicle for use in low altitudes doesn't operate well in high altitudes and at high speeds. Even the space shuttle has this problem, just from the design it would be near impossible to fly though low atmosphere. In fact I believe NASA was somewhat skeptical about whether it was going to be able to maintain lift after re-entry.

I've been playing with FAR recently and it's a lot better. I've also found the transition is not too drastic, i.e. it's pretty easy to pick up and change your building style.

I really hope they implement it or something similar into the stock game soon, it really is nice to make fairings have a purpose, making lifting bodies like the Dream Chaser, and also just fly proper airplanes and rockets. :)

Hold on, by tail do you mean the vertical tail fin or like a second smaller "wing" near the tail of the plane like on real planes? If the latter, then that's probably part of my issue.

Hmm, 1000m/s at 15,000m? That could be why, I'm only typically at around 500m/s at 15,000m.

Lol 500 m/s at 15k?? U must be reaching stalling AoA, at which point many planes screw up, u can rotate ur plane up and down in sph and see where the CoM and CoL are, with Mk2 parts, u can put docking inliners and passanger spots on the front, seems to have a high mass-lift ration, and you can have a reasonably manouverable vehicle and it can be spinout-proff, and make vertical stabelisers on the bottom to counter the top while in a sideslip! :D
