[0.25] Engine Ignitor (Workaround for some bugs V3.4.1: Aug.31)

Feature Suggestion

I think a button would be very helpful that set the throttle to the minimal setting that the engine is not cutting off. So many times, I am trying to do this by hand and either set it too high or accidentally cut the engine.

Would anyone be willing to help? Could be in this mod or standalone.

Thanks!

G. Lilienthal.

PS: My suggestion would be the y key. Or is it already taken?

I really hope there's an update soon enough, I'm having weird issues with engines suddenly becoming very unstable fuel flow while on accent. The first stage engines just shut off for no apparent reason after boosters burn out...

Check if you have TestFlight mod, your description seems to be related to it - http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/109901-1-0-2-TestFlight-v1-3-1-17-May-2015-Bring-Flight-Testing-to-KSP!

well, i dunno how this works and i dunno nothing about programming, but using manuals i have changed few bytes and just recompiled DDL for KSP 1.0.2. but seems it works (suddenly). to my mind playing without it was too easy

pls, feedback

EngineIgnitor for 1.0.2 (DLL only)

Thank you, all seems to be working :)

no, I don't have testflight installed. I removed Engine Ignitor from the game and the issue seized to reproduce so I'm fairly certain the issue is with Engine Ignitor. And yes, I do have the Denny's patch applied.

Removing and reinstalling Engine Ignitor with Denny's patch magically fixed the issue, but after a few days the issue started to occur again. Once it happens, it happens always. Testing reinstall again.

Further testing has revealed that it was possibly not any bug at all, just a fuel flow problem occurring due to sudden drops in acceleration. Although that seems odd since fuel still should be pushed downwards by the main engine's acceleration, maybe it still is a bug in that area.

If anybody has got the same problem, please help in gathering more data on what is going on here.

I wanted to report on this thread that anyone who may be having trouble using this, (as I did, massive FPS drop) or considering using this, RealFuels (which is getting updated regularly) now supports this function, and does it using EI's own settings, so legacy cfgs are supported. RO/RSS felt almost unplayable for me without EI so I wanted to spread this information around a bit.

@Mandelbrot Thanks for the info.

The Community Mods Library indicates that EI is compatible with 1.0 . Here I thought it was going to be updated Soontm.

The CML indicates that Real Fuels is incompatible with 1.0 but the RF thread shows it was updated on July 13 and is compatible with 1.04.

The updated CML is accurate. Now, it seems, have to work out some issues I am having with CKAN.

But actrually it works just fine... Only a small fix needed on Ignition Fuel Settings...

Said this still works, is that true for 1.0.4 or 1.0.5? If it is then it's totally going into my mod collection.

It'd be nice to see if it works properly by having someone that has used it WAYYYY more than myself test it's ability.

It worked, but ALL of its features are now in RealFuels.

Sounds good, but I'm not quite I want to get into and use real fuels... I'm busy enough working with my game getting it to play how I want without adding another mod into the mix. Adding another to the mix, especially RF, would be a bit of a pain since it's kinda complex to someone that's never used it.

Thanks for the info nonetheless!
