Is it possible to make the lights flash?

You need to address this question to Kreuzung, who wrote the plugin that actually controls the lights. ))

I was inspired by the included light/battery welds and decided to try my hand at welding them to docking ports. Most of the time that's where I need light, and this way things can stay a bit more compact. Presenting the Dock-o-Matic BRIGHT:

Alexustas, please feel free to include, link to, or ignore these :sticktongue:

Thanks, I will add the link to the opening post.

you should check out the aviation lights, they have flash/strobe modes and lots of colors. good for blinky applications. This seems more like a floodlight kinda thing..

What's the problem with installing the completely free http://7-zip.org/ though?

Not that it bothers me too much, but the interface for zips is a native windows one, 7zip opens a separate application. There's a very slight timing difference, and it's a new window (which may or may not be a bad thing).

Yeah, but windows only opens zip files like a folder (well it doesn't really, there are some annoying differences), while 7-zip can open every sort of archive and even some file types that aren't true archives (like java files or CD images).

I personally use the built-in windows zip support for zip files, and 7-zip for all other archive types.

In the editor, you can mouseover the light and press the "lights on" key.

In flight, you use the part context menu, it will have an option called "Show colour picker"... or something like that... heck I coded it and I don't remember it exactly, fail.

I didn't see it when I right clicked on it in-flight, but I suck at reading, so I'll check again. Might be that I'm in 0.23. Is this mod intended for 0.23?

Did you install the Vanguard plugin also? Hit "U" key in VAB to bring up menu and right click in flight. If none aren't coming up then the plugin might not be installed or installed right.

If the plugin is separate from the DL for the actual lights, that's probably it, considering I don't see any plugins in the folder.

Yes, the plugin is a separate DL, because it is used in multiple mods (I can remember around 5 right now).

I just updated my plugin, you can now show the colour picker in the editor by using tweakables. I also improved the preset system a bit (moved the "delete preset" button to the other 2 ones and made "rename preset" only show up when a preset is selected).

Thank you, Kreuzung!

So i got the Vanguard Plugin, but which file to install for the lights? you have a bunch that say "for testing". Is it the zip one at the bottom? Or is it the CFG?

Ooh, shiny. I've always thought the stock game made it too hard to find a balance between black silhouettes on a black background or blinding white flickering self-illuminated flying rave parties. So lights = win.

Very useful mod! I'm so tired of docking in the dark, trying to right-click that docking port I cannot see. In RSS nights are a lot longer and it seems to be darker in general so this is helping a lot. Thanks!

Good thing you have a light-weight version too. Got to look after every kilo in RSS... xD
