Epic KSP Theme song + Space theme (update 3)

Hey guys. I'm a progressive metal musician that plays KSP way too much, so I thought I'd give a go at covering the intro song in my style (which is epic orchestral progressive metal)!

Check it out.

Update 1/14/2014:

Pizzaoverhead has released a mod that allows you to replace music in Kerbal Space Program. Some of you have asked if there's a way to replace in the intro music with this song. Now you can!

http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/65726-0-23-Soundtrack-Editor

At the moment, the mod requires sound files to be .ogg or .wav, so I am releasing a re-mastered version with an ogg file available. EDIT: I believe there is mp3 support now.

Remastered KSP Metal Intro Song:

Dropbox MP3: kspthemeR.mp3

Dropbox OGG: kspthemeR.ogg

Update 11/1/13:

Did a little bit of the space music:

Update 10/26/13:

New extended version with a little music video of random KSP clips.

Mp3 download:

First version:

Side question: Do you think it would be copyright infringement if I used it as an intro to my youtube ksp videos with ads?

Out of curiosity, why do people suddenly have low expectations when they see "prog metal" or "metal"?

Since it's your thread and you asked ... I lived in LA during the late 80's and 90's. I saw a *lot* of metal bands play (big names and bands you never heard of), so I am pretty jaded. I have not found very many modern metal bands that have any real musicality, so I don't bother with the genre. I could probably ramble on much more about the topic, but let's just leave it at that. :)

Constructive criticism mode on: I did not enjoy the muted sound of the "original" soundtrack in the beginning, because I felt it did not transition well into the bit where the guitars kicked in. In my opinion, it should either have started as crisp and loud as the metal bit, or it should have faded up to that. You may want to play with it and see what works best?

That said, the metal rendition of the KSP theme was nothing short of awesome. Very well done! That's the way I want to launch a rocket.

And a little nag at the end... I felt the outro dragged on for too long. A short piece like this benefits from a sharp, short end.

So my critique would be - you have a great piece of KSP music there, but I feel you could frame it better :)

When I first saw the title, I was not expecting much, but I loved it. Maybe my idea of metal is incorrect, I don't know, but to me this didn't feel like metal, but then I don't know much about music.

Also grats on getting onto KSP weekly! I wouldn't be here otherwise!

Now, I shall listen again.

Edit: I want this in KSP somewhere!!!

hm...

Your intro was somewhat annoying, Especially so with my EQ setup. after that, its good. The Outro carried on just a little bit too long. Cut it by ~ 6-8 seconds and your good, as far as I'm concerned.

Rock on brother!
