Where is YOUR Jebediah Kerman?

Rescue was successful, but Jeb's next mssion took him to Duna where a hard landing voided his ship's guarantee and left him stranded. He's found an old science rover that has been gathering Duna dust for years and is having fun rebuilding it into a dune buggy.

A couple of years later, Jeb's flying a tanker/rescue ship around Dres to routinely rescue other Kerbonauts. He's very good at this because he has unmatched experience at getting rescued.

My Jeb is dead. :( He managed the first successful orbit of Kerbin, but stayed up too long and ran out of electric power during the descent. His pod came in facing the completely wrong way, and burned up in the atmosphere.

(TAC Life Support and Deadly Re-entry mods contributed to his death.)

I was afraid he had been lost in a terrible accident, but last night I discovered he was residing on Mun. He had made a successful landing, but there was not enough fuel to return. Therefore I decided he needed to be returned. So I started a mission to bring him back. However my multi-seat rescue lander was under designed and didn't make a successful landing. Later I discovered I already had a lander orbiting Mun that is more than capable of landing and returning, so that is my mission tonight. Bring home Jebediah.

He was bravely taking on the first manned mission to achieve a stable LKO. He managed to successfully establish an orbit at around 80.000 km. Using his onboard devices, he was able to send large amounts of EVA reports to KSC. Using the rest of his fuel, he did a retrograde burn which led his vessel to a trajectory ending in kerbal ocean waters.

Unfortunatelly, the deployed parachute, even though fired at the altitude of 20.000km was apparently not enough to slow down the capsule enough. It crashed into the ocean with the force of a thousand suns (around 10m/s). The capsule blew up, the emergency teams where not able to recover any leftovers.

On the bright side, there have been no reports of a dead kerbonaut washed ashore on any of the observed continents. Being an old lone wolve, who knows? This legend of a kerbonaut might have been able to survive somehow. I guess we'll find out in time ... he might just show up at the KSC kerbonaut recruitment facility once he makes his way back to the KSC ... :P
