Memorial For The Fallen (Or the burnt, smashed, mutilated and possesed) Kerbals

I was wondering, what song, if any, do you play at the imminent death of your Kerbals?

As Bill was falling to the ocean because the parachutes ripped off, ^{see: flexible docking ports that shouldn't flex} I imagine he and his crew mate who was still in a perpetual orbit were saying their final goodbyes. After Bill died, I played Knockin' On Heaven's Door by Guns 'n Roses. Is it in bad taste? I would've played Come Fly With Me, but it was too upbeat. Anyway, Bill was my first casualty and deserved a great, cheesy, memorial.

I think it would be great if an actual memorial at KSC was in place where you could walk/drive/fly by and look at the (ever growing) list of names of your departed Kerbals.

Have a look around Airstrip island. There are areas there that remind me of the graveyard you could build in Simcity 4. You could plant a flag for each fallen kerbal.

Funny thing, I actually did that exact thing later on. Except on top of the capsule there. Maybe I should replant them...

I accidentally killed Jeb on my very first 0.22 gameplay video for YouTube. I'm also not using quicksave, quickload, or revert flight buttons.

I personally plant a memorial flag behind the Astronaut Complex, with Taps playing in the background.

There is a list of those that didn't make it back when you visit the recruiting center.

I plant flags next to the astronaut complex for dead kerbals (in saves where I turn off respawn). The plaque tells when and how they died, while the flag name says who.

Turns out for me, the #1 cause of death is trying to do stunts in an airplane and ending up nosediving into the ground.

#2 is failing to land an airplane...

I haven't lost a Kerbal since 0.20, and now I'm getting super cautious about killing them.

I used to have a ridiculous amount of launch pad deaths, it was carnage, but now I make sure everything has an abort sequence. I even small srb's into the sequence to accelerate the CM away from the doom that is occuring behind them.

I haven't lost a Kerbal yet in career mode, but if I do I'll probably do much the same as zxczxczbfg, except playing Last Post instead of Taps.

There have been no deaths in my space programme, simply blank spaces in certain group photographs. I did think about mounting a rescue mission once, but decided a bottle of Tipex was a cheaper solution to the problem :-)

The flags for the fallen is an awesome idea. I would also like a memorial... I lose track sometimes of how many have been, um, lost... in the line of duty.

I've found it funny that now we actually care about our Kerbals now that it is actually recorded properly.

I know that feeling from when I first used the "crew management mod" (don't know the correct name). I was really thrilled to see this implemented in 0.22, but then I found out that dead Kerbals resurrect (I'm sure that will change) and now I'm back to square one; Kerbals are collateral damage.

I've taken to planting flags at KSC in career mode for fallen Kerbalnauts.

This one, named after an individual if it's just a single Kerbal.

And this one if it's multiple Kerbals on the same flight. A crew, for example.

Though in terms of music, I had the girlfriend's spotify playlist running and this

started playing once as Jeb's lifeless capsule fell into Jool. A fitting end to KASA's finest. I do miss you Jeb, you beautiful green bastard.
