Stock Submarine!

Recommended Posts

The challenge: Build a submarine of stock and stock only to roam the ocean floor. I've tested it, and using rockets to thrust down into water makes you submerge. It works.

Extra Credit:

Going Green : Go to the island and back using only less than half of your fuel. 200 Points

Tiny Titanic: Make the smallest part count sub. 100 points.

Titanic Tim: Have the largest part count. 100 points.

Up the Leagues: Go the farthest. 250 points.

Torpedo: Go the fastest. 200 points.

Social Submarine: Have the most crew capacity. 100 points.

Rules:

1. You must build and launch at the SPH.

2. Remember, this is stock, and no hyperedit!

3.Survival is optional.

Also, a tip: When submerged, you may use RCS to rotate. You also very slowly come back up, as a caution.

Sure it is possilbe. Orange tanks are sinking, so all you need to do is to use few of them as balast and your ship will go under water. Engines are working underwater (rocket, jets). Only problem is speed - 1-2 m/s with full engines thrust.

Here you go. I did used Hyperedit this time to go over water but it would be perfectly OK for me to use decoupled wheels. Maybe next time i'll do it.

Two basic jests pointed upward to submerge, one jet pointed back for forward motion. About 10 m/s speed. Much faster than "orange tank" option.
