I haven't been in touch with TSG in a while and have just been observing where EVE is going waiting for its next release before persuing any more updates to BA. I did mostly texture work on the BA package but might be able to work on actual configs once I get my hands on EVE when its done to continue work on BA. Thanks for all your hard work as always rbray!

Hi Erona! Thanks for your post, I hope it did not seem that I was trying to force your hand into commenting. It is great news though that you are considering to continue to work on BA. As I stated earlier, both EVE and BA add such a splendor to the game whilst keeping the memory hit within manageable levels, no easy feat I would imagine!

Both mods deserve to be highly recognised and used widely. They really are a great inspiration for any beautification mod.

Yes, it's working. But I'm speaking about a "photorealistic trick" that I do in KSPRC. Check this pic from the last version, using EVE 7-4. Look at the bluish tone in the atmosphere:

Is a blue transparent layer that disappears as you go close to the planet, intended to achieve this photorealistic effect:

Look at my previous pics of Kerbin in the overhaul. I can try to do the same with the color in the planetMaterial, but the transparency doesn't work, so I can get Kerbin blue tinted, but in a pure-complete blue. I can't set transparency.

I could to do the same effect with the layers, as always, but in the overhaul the blue layer affects the clouds strongly and the lighting seems too "flat" (maybe due to the specularity issue, as I was saying).

Excuse my bad english, it's hard for me to make me understandable. :P

Proot: regarding your issue with clouds being blue. 7.3 had a different load order where by placing clouds before atmosphere in the config made them unaffected by the atmo layers. In Overhauls the load order is unchanged regardless of config order.

I might be retarded, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to open the gui. Is it supposed to show up in toolbar or is there a keybind I should have read about somewhere?

Thanks

The overhaul is Alt+E to open the eve manager, I doubt its changed from this version

Good to know, thank you!. But I'm not very sure about how works the order of layers in the overhaul version. It is really important for something or just for maintain the order?

This is pretty much the only instance I've encountered concerning load orders. It works how you'd imagine in the overhauls; put a blue atmosphere layer over clouds and the clouds become blue. This was an issue a while back when I was using such layers, so I had to force the planets to be perfectly flat so I could squeeze atmosphere layers below the cloud layers without terrain clipping being to obvious. However now the 'terrain wrapping' proper atmosphere system is in place this isn't an issue at all, at low altitudes and in space :) The only problem I've had is that the load order of the new atmosphere haze has been pushed back for some reason, so my complimentary blue sky layer now no longer works, although I doubt this'd be necessary on stock ksp sized planets anyway.

fixes for that (and more):

Just be sure when using a 2D offset to also make the offset in volume as well.

I would love to get my hands on the 9-2 Overhaul.... But the link is broken. (I am trying to get RVE to work, and that seems to be a requirement.... ) If getting 9-2 isn't possible, is there a config that will make RVE 2.1 compatible with 7-4?

Thank you in advance!

I love the mod.... I've been known to launch things just so I can gaze that the beauty of it!

I have now perfected the lightning behavior. I only have this pic just to give you an idea. It's really fast.

Note that lightning may indeed strike in the same place, but not in the same way.
