rbray,

There is this one Real Solar System plug in config that uses PlanetFactory, Universal Replacer, this mod, and RSS (of course), and it reconfigures the Kerbol system to remake the RL solar system. When I installed it with the nessecary mods, the clouds (excluding city lights) do not show up on any of the atmospheric bodies at all. Is there any solution to this, or is this a bug that needs to be fixed? A fix for this would be perfect.

Visual Enhancement’s clouds no longer look tiled or flat. All atmospheric bodies now look much more realistic and beautiful with new HD textures.

I've redone the configuration of all the planets (Kerbin, Duna, Jool, Laythe, and most importantly Eve), replaced both detail and normal map textures with two HD ones I made, and turned Duna cloud texture into a beautiful 8k texture.

Interesting, I've never seen that before.

Try replacing duna1.tga with the one that came with Visual Enhancements itself.

It's possibly just a memory-related issue.

If that doesn't help, try removing the detail and then bump textures just to see if that's what's causing it.

WOW! This is why I wrote this mod. I was hoping people would take the artistic side up, like what happened with universe replacer. Well done good sir.

Thank you, it started out as a small change in settings, then I quickly realized that the textures could also be replaced. This allows to get the best of both worlds (up-close and from orbit).

I've got a suggestion for a new update to your plugin. It would be great to have more settings dependent on whether you are under or above the clouds.

I will provide detail later.

Edit: If you make the scale not be a global setting, but as two settings (one under UnderCloud Settings and one for above cloud setting, it would allow for more detail when you're on the surface and the detail draw-distance is lowered.

Also multiple normal maps or detail textures which take priority depending on your distance to the cloud layer.

Just giving ideas that could give freedom to customization.

I may have to do something like this, though the shader is already pretty beefy at this point. I don't want it to melt anyone's computer :)

Think it'd be possible to make it so the skybox can only be seen when the camera is in the shade? This way when your orbiting Kerbin the sky is black as it should be, but when you pass into the night side the stars come out.

I know all the image files take the same video memory when decompressed by the video card. I'm repacking my image files to save hard drive space and make the download smaller. Can I use PNGs for everything in this mod and still get the mipmapping? Can I use them for the game and get the mipmapping? I want to get away from using these bloated TGAs.
