Brand: CyberPower

GPU: AMD R9 270X, 2GB of GDDR5

CPU: AMD FX-8350, 8 cores, 4GHz clock speed

HDD: Single 2TB drive

RAM: 8GB (2 4GB sticks)

OS: Windows 8.1 64bit

Air Cooled, runs quietly at all times though

Got it for Christmas of 2013

Using the CMStorm Devastator keyboard and mouse combo, Turtle Beach P11 for the headset

I think it was around $1000

This build is a huge leap over my 4 year old HP laptop. There are some amazing PCs in here!

Brand: Custom Build

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7770 Sapphire Vapor-X, 1GB GDDR5

CPU: AMD Phenom II Black Edition 550 3.1GHz with 3 cores unlocked

HDD: No idea, 250gb

RAM: 4GB

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

Air Cooled, can get pretty hot, but it's never a problem

The oldest part (and also the pain of the computer) is the HDD which is 8 years old, the CPU and the RAM are 3 years old.The newest part is the GPU which is a few months old.

Over the years, building the whole computer costed something close to 1000$.Obviously, you can get the same PC for way cheaper now.

It does its job well.

Brand: Zoostorm

Model: G31 VP Series M10

RAM: 4GB

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400, with unsuprisingly two cores, at 2.8GHz/core

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series (couldn't find the VRAM for it, but hte model should give someone more savvy an idea)

HDD: Hitachi HDP725050GLA360 ATA (500GB estimate, but since the OS et. al. takes up space it's something like 458GB?)

OS: Windows Vista SP2

Cooling: An "ACPI Fan" as the Device Manager calls it, although SpeedFan says there are two. It's keeping the two cores at 32 and 39 degrees Celsius. Is that good? No idea.

Age: It's getting on for 7 or 8 years now. It's done quite well, hearing about Zoostorm.

Oh, and accessories too:

Mouse: Genius XScroll (off the bottom of the mouse)

Keyboard: Genius K639 (that's the model number anyway, also off the bottom)

They both came with the computer.

I have said this many times before when talking about PCs. My computer is an underperformer by modern standards.

Brand: DannySwish Incorporated (I built it :3)

CPU: Quad-Core Intel i7 4770k 3.5GHz (Stock clock, might bump it up someday, but the temperatures didn't please me when overclocked)

GPU: Nvidia EVGA GTX 780 Classified 3GB

Storage: One Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD (Space is at 40GB and going down all the time, will need another at some point and will run in RAID 0)

RAM: 2x8GB 1866MHz Corsair Ballistix Elite

CPU Cooling: Corsair H100i with dual Noctua 120mm NF-F12s

Age: A couple months old

Notable Peripherals: BenQ XL2420TE 144Hz Monitor, Razer DeathAdder 2013 Mouse

Cost: $1600 without accessories, $2000 with accessories. Amazing how cheap it is to build your own over buying a brand like Alienware.

My system is in flux at the moment, up to yesterday evening:

Case: procase Noah mITX + 80w DC-DC PSU

CPU: Intel celeron G1610

Mobo: Asrock H61M-ITX

RAM: 2x2gb Kingston HyperX 1600

GPU: Intel HD Graphics

Storage: 160gb 2.5" 5400RPM disc + 40gb Intel SSD

OS: Xubuntu 13.10

Cost: €100 (everything but cpu mobo and 1 stick of ram salvaged from older rigs)

Current update:

Case: Coolermaster Elite 130

PSU: Corsair VS350 (currently in the mail, so i'm mid-build)

GPU: Asus Geforce GT630

Cost €110 on top of the previous cost, pretty bad VFM comparatively, but the case/PSU opens the door to serious upgrading, i'm considering an i3/i5 and a Geforce GTX something or other somewhere down the line.

  • Brand: Own Built
  • CPU: Intel i5 3470 Quad Core running constant turbo at @3.6gHz
  • GPU: ASUS GTX 650 Ti 1024mb twin fan
  • Storage: 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD's, giving 2TB of storage.
  • RAM: 2 x 4gb Samsung
  • Cooling: Antec Khuler 620 Series Water cooling with one intake fan feeding radiator, two chassis fans running exhaust.
  • PSU: Corsair 650W Modular
  • Age: Just about 1 year old
  • Other accessories: Several dust filters, Gigabyte mouse, cheap Xebec keyboard, 37" Panasonic TV
  • Cost: At time of purchase, about £1,200, as of now, about £900-1,000

Other things to note I'm running positive static pressure as the room I'm in is quite dusty, and it helps prevent dust build up inside the case. I clean it out every few months.

Probably upgrading my GPU to a GTX 780 this year, and possibly upgrading my CPU to something that will run closer to 4.0gHz, though GPU will be priority.

Toshiba "QOSMIO" x505 (my first laptop)

Intel quad core i7 2.00 GHz

NVidia GeForce GTS 250M with 1.0 GB

320 GB hard drive plus 64 GB SSD

6.0 GB RAM

Open window

2 years old, maybe? I forget.

Wireless mouse (but I just Googled "Razer Death Adder" that I saw on someone's post and now I need that)

I think around $2,000

It weighs 12 pounds, so why did I bother getting a laptop?? Plus I have a weird problem with audio/video stuttering and applications "Not Responding" which is annoying and I cannot hunt it down and kill it. I am seriously considering a new laptop and pretending that this one never existed.

  • Brand: Self
  • CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 565 (dual core), overclocked from 3 to 4gHz
  • GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6670 (1 GB)
  • Storage: 290 GB, mirrored
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Cooling: Fans...
  • PSU: Yes. (can't remember, don't feel like opening it. Probably nothing special.)
  • Age: Not entirely sure, has been upgraded a few times
  • Other: Logitech M705 mouse, some keyboardtm, Dell 2208WFP monitor
  • Cost: *shrugs*

Works fairly well for KSP on max settings, does start to lag at fairly low part levels though.

My old rig, at the venerable age of six years, bought the farm. My new computer is a little more robust this time around.

CPU: AMD FX-8300 eight-core 3.3 GHz

GPU: AMD Radeon HD8760 (but will probably swap it out for my nVidia GTX 650ti SC from the old system)

Storage: 4 TB

RAM: 16 GB

OS: Windows 8.1 x64 (ugh)

Not a fan of the "Modern" UI on a desktop system. I can see it being useful on a phone or tablet, but not a dual-screen desktop. Fortunately you can turn off most of the stuff and get a more Win7 experience.

Brand-Alienware/Dell

Model M17x R4

CPU- i7-3630QM quad core

GPU- GTX 660M(the good one with GDDR5)

HDD-500gb stock drive, and 120GB SSD I added.

RAM-6GB DDR3-1600

I also bought a Razer Taipan and Razer Blackwidow. Planning on buying a big monitor later. It's OK, and runs games reasonably well, but it's impractical and heavy and overpriced. When it dies or goes significantly out of date. I'm definitely going to build a desktop.

I've had it for about a year and it was $1500. SSD ran me $120, and mouse and keyboard were $170 collectively- got a nice deal.
