I'll do my best to do the last hotfix to MS19 (f) this weekend. This before getting ready to sprint into MS20. Which should include 2 new major features:

* First Manned Experiments (Mercury & Gemini)

* Photo & Video Experiment Plugin (For later impact probes.)

And it should be somewhere in there time to make an installation video, which I'll be working out the details with Nathan tonight most likely.

Yes, sorry it's taking forever. Things ramped up at my work, so trying to even out things before jumping back in.

Bit of a vain moment here, I finally got to see my name in the credits of Watch_Dogs! I'm part of one of the studios that worked with Ubisoft for the localization & Audio production! Woot!

Don't worry, my comment wasn't meant to be criticism, it was just a reminder to be patient. As for the second info... congratulations! :) Its nice to see ones work being appreciated! I will probably never play Watch_Dogs, too much hecticness from what I have seen so far. I loved Uplink when it came out, it had its moments where one had to be fast, but it was much more in the direction of acting in the shade. (sorry for being off topic)

Contrary to the other voices here, I dont like an installation video. I prefer text to be honest. I was planing on doing a creatig a graph where each node is an installation step and each edge represents a logical connection that you have to follow in order to get a working install. But I will do the graph ealiest with the next complete install of RPL I do, so I can create the graph in parallel with my install process.

On that note, anybody tried to use KSP Mod Admin for RPL? I might also try to use it for my next complete install..

As we talked about SCANsat being integrated into RPL, I was surprised that it kind of already was in there. I made the test and launched 2 5T lifters with 3 satellites each. The probes used the 0.5T cubic computer cores for bacterial experiments. The first were 3 low earth altitude mapping satellites and the other 3 high altitude mapping satellites. Both launches were in a polar orbits. The low quality altitude map turned out to not need 3 satellites, that was overkill, but the high altitude (orbit at 7500 km) worked quite well that way. It took 26 kerbin days (so almost 1 week earth time) to map 99.9% of the world. At 1000x speed, that were a bit more than 30 min watching some orbital ballet. To be honest, after these launches, it was quite good to sit back and see everything working so nicely. To me, that is totally acceptable. If I launch a satellite to an other world, with just one mapping gismo, well, that might be a bit painful. Would be nice if the maps would give more than 20 science though. Thats kind of lame for such an afford.

Why do use kerbin days (6h) on RSS where days are 24h, you know you can change that in the settings from main menu? :D

And what comes to SCANsat, i wonder where the biome scanner has been 'hidden', three others are open already, hmmm...

Ohh thx.. I tried to change that in game but didnt find the option.. I forgot to take a look at the settings menu. I fixed that :)

After completing all the LEO probes and setting up a communication network, I'm getting ready for my first manned orbital launch (Mercury-Atlas). I've noticed I don't have the LR-89 engine available, is this intended? If so, am I supposed to use one of the German/British engines in its place?

I know this is kinda small, but could you also add the FTX-2 External Fuel Duct to an earlier rocket tech? I notice it is one of the last things to be unlocked, and I feel it should be unlocked in the 1972+ rocketry era. The first use I can find of a Fuel Line is on the STS launch vehicle, with concepts showing an external tank design as early as 1969. Before it was retired, an umbilical cord was used to transport fuel from the External Tank to the Orbiter during launch.

hi, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before but I do believe I did everything instructed on the first post but it seems that when I load my game, it seems to load everything but then it gets stuck on a black screen with the little loading icon at the bottom right constantly running but it never brings me to the main screen.

Sickboy: Is this your first time using RSS? If yes, then let it run for at least 45 minutes (obviously, I recommend doing it in windowed mode). It will look like it's frozen, but it should in fact be doing something (you can check that in the KSP.log file, it gets updated once every five or so minutes). RSS can take a lot of time to "recreate" the planets on the first start-up, especially if you use the config with planet factory.

Hm, to my admittedly limited knowledge this is not the kind of errors that should freeze the game. Do you have the b9 aerospace mod installed? If not, then it is no wonder that compiling alternative spaces for its pods fails, and it should not freeze the game.

1 hour should definitely be enough for it to finish rebuilding the planets though, I think it took sth like 40 minutes on my computer. And it did update the log, sometimes it took longer than five minutes for an update to appear, but definitely not an hour. I think your best bet would be to describe your situation in more detail (like: which configs you are using, whether it is a fresh install or one on which you have already used some or all of the Realism Overhaul mods, and in the latter case, if they worked) and wait for one of the relevant mods' authors to notice and help you.

PS Just one thought - In case you were using the RSS config with Planet Factory and it was your first time trying it, did you follow the instructions I quote below?

IF YOU ARE NOT USING THE DEFAULT RSS CONFIG
you must delete all OBJ files in GameData/RealSolarSystem/Plugins/PluginData before launching with the new config. Further, KSP will take an extra 15-20 minutes to load the first time while it regenerates models. This is normal. After that, subsequent launches of KSP will be fast.

Actually I've realized I've updated the configs today and deleted the old obj files just to be on the safe side, so I have an example of what a correct log looks like. All in all it took 56 minutes for KSP to load, including 5 minutes for normal parts and the texture manager, then 32 minutes for RSS, and 19 minutes of what seems like an inexplicable freeze (judging from the log, I was doing other things in the meantime so no idea how it looked like on the screen). Hmm, I thought all the MJ modules were in the first node. (Until I took time to put them at interesting places)

This is why I ship the default OBJs with RSS, so that people using the default config don't have to wait on first load. If you switch configs and your new config doesn't come with OBJs though...then you gotta wait.

Can confirm that MechJeb manoeuvre planning (and other tools, like the warp helper) are not usually not available for me, but it sometimes shows up when I quick-load a game (F9). I haven't investigated mechanics.

The repeatable science for Sputnik may have been an RT2 glitch. (And RT2 is kicking arse right now. If 1.4.0 didn't go out while I was flying, it should be out soon!)

It can be safely window-moded and run in the background so it's no biggie in my opinion, I just surf the web in the meantime, or better yet, do something productive. And besides, it's just once, subsequent launches are much faster.

For reference: I play on a laptop with intel i7 2630qm 2ghz, 8gb of RAM and geforce gt540m with 2gb of vram.

Ok, quick question: (I find things as I play through the game and use mods or parts I haven't used yet)

In ScanSat there are 4 scanners in the base game. So far in my campaign (and in my hacked game where i gave myself 10,000,000 science for testing purposes), you only ever get access to 3 (Radar Altimetry (low altitude) and SAR (high altitude) and the "Been there Done that" (Anomaly tracking)). Is the multi-spectral (Biome scanner) not implemented into the RPL Tree? If it is not (which it isn't as far as I can tell although I might have installed something wrong) What do you suggest I change in the Scansat configs to add them to specific tech nodes until the next hotfix or the 20 update comes out (or is this even possible with the RPL Tree being used)?

Also random side note: The "Been there Done that" is unlocked with some rover wheels (that might even be the specific node name), I am wondering if that is intended, I can see the reasoning because you either need the landing legs or the wheels to visit the anomalies, just seems slightly out of place right there.

I'll note the game does not crash and still operates fine, but it remained there without proceeding for over an hour. Has anyone dealt with something similar? I would love to see a fix here because I don't see much point to RSS+RO without this mod.

Procedurar fairings bases are now also procedural, could you add them to the tech tree? This usually happens on the first startup after changing the RSS config. Are you sure you haven't changed it? After the game freezes, wait for about 10 to 15 minutes, and then check KSP.log (it's in the main KSP folder, open it with notepad and scroll to the bottom) to see if it was updated post-freeze. If it was, it usually means that the game does do something, most likely recreates the planet models for RSS.
