Tips and tricks you found out yourself

Recommended Posts

Found out that when I put the probe in a very excentric orbit (200x8000 here), with the PE roughly in the direction I want to go, I am able to thrust for several hours along my orbit while also accelerating towards the planet without loosing sunlight.

Not sure if this is really dV efficient or anything, but at least I can thrust away without pausing because of planetary shadows or coming around on my orbit several times.

Adjusting maneuver nodes with mouse wheel, by pointing any of the nodes to decrease or increase. And click any Ap, Pe point to see info on it, while changing maneuver node. Made life much easier and can plan extremely accurate approaches.

According to Steam, I have 700 hours in KSP. And NOW, you tell me about this!?!?!?! Thank you. Sent a Rep point to your forum account as well. I've been using (and will continue to use) MJ Maneuver Node Editor); your hint will make things go a lot faster.

Re-assign the space key .... mine is set to the Home Key ... which is right out of harms way :D

In map mode if your Conics are jumping around all over the place when you shut down engines .... Disable the reaction wheels

If when in map mode your targeting indicators jump around .... if say in target mode ... go to stability mode and things will settle down

Do the same when docking for smooth control .... Disable Reaction Wheels on both craft
