Could we have a 'stickied' how-to thread?

Recommended Posts

Basically, there's a lot of answers available in this sub-forum, but it still takes a lot of wading with no guarantee of success. Is it worthwhile to have a stickied thread to consolidate the 'how to's' and tips? Not a discussion thread, simply a bold headline per post on what it relates to, for example:

How to put docking ports on your craft

"Explanation..."

Rather than debate entries, if there is more to add, then add it via another post with the same title.

This 'game' is pretty demanding, it just might make things easier for folks.

Specialist290 has a nice tutorial guide, broken down by subject matter. It's stickied in the tutorials sub-section to this forum.

Wow. In fact, he's expanded it quite a bit since the last time I looked at it.

Indeed. What motivated me to create that thread in the first place, in fact, was a desire to have a single place to refer new players to so that they could find the information they were looking for quickly. I dare say it's been rather successful at that, from what I've heard, and I hope it continues to be useful for new players in the future.

Of course, if you see something missing that you'd like to see, or have any other questions or concerns, I'm quite open to feedback, so feel free to leave me a message in that thread if there's something you want to see addressed :)

Well, here's my attempt: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/60074-How-to-Guide-and-Commonly-Asked-Questions-%28And-Answers%21%29

I'm open to suggestions about how to format it or how many questions and answers to include. Those included are something of a first draft, I plan on putting more, but for now I just scanned the first five or so pages of this subforum and added answers to some of the repeatedly asked questions. Feel free to suggest or add more. If it gets stickied that's great, but if it gets a steady stream of replies it should remain visible too.

Edit: And it got moved already, which basically makes it redundant.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
