[WIP] Cacteye Telescope v0.1 (2/1/14) - Modular, EVA-serviceable orbital telescope

Well, I don't even know what HullCamera is and still the game is freezing on loading tele_processor_high...

Confirm, after updating HullCamVDS to ver 0.3 this mod makes KSP stuck at load time. All three processor parts are actually involved (high, mid, low). Tweaked a bit with various files, it shows the issue is related to the module "name= TelescopeProcessor" with each config file: removing just that module from the config files, KSP loads.

I would suspect there is now a similarly named module with HullCamVDS, and that is creating incompatibility (the values within the config don't match with the HullCam module), but have to further investigate this. If it is a confirmed issue coming from HullCam, I am going to post over that thread to mention this inconvenience.

Diomedea just brought the issue to my attention. As far as I can tell(from my phone) is that it's a cateye plugin problem.

I'll see if theres is something that can be done to fix this as soon as I have time.

So I recompiled CatEyeTelescope.dll with the newest version of Hullcam VDS.

Here's a link: http://www./download/iuiq2cwx0sh3124/CactEyeTelescope.dll

Don't have time to test it, only saw that the game could go all the way to the VAB.

Please let me know if this fixes the problems.

Sure now KSP loads with that recompiled dll. And, tried with a Cacteye telescope already in orbit, it works.

Albert VDS, many thanks :D.

The link to the screen capture fails as not being publicly viewable. Makes it hard to see what's wrong ;)

Have never had a problem even close to what you're having, so has to be some sort of install or conflict problem. It is a great mod, I use it in every career :)

Also, double check to make sure you have all the required updates. I'm sure you already have, but never want to assume when there is a problem.

Sorry about that! I'll unlock it somehow EDIT: here's the link http://imgur.com/a/Jawsv

You certainly do have it in the right place. Have you tried it without ScienceRedefined being installed? It is one of the ones I don't use (yes, after checking into it from this I'm likely to try it myself ;) ) and have seen others with science mod issues with relation to this. Not the same symptoms but have to start somewhere. With luck Rubber Ducky or another with more knowledge of the internal functions of this can chime in to help identify where the conflict is so this can get up and running for you. :)

@ Javster: if I read correctly your list of mods, you don't have HullCamVDS installed. That is a mandatory mod to have installed for Cacteye to work (as indicated in the OP).

Can't say if that is the root of your problem, but you may try. And yes, confirm what you and JeffreyCor said, Cacteye is a great mod!

EDIT: please note that with the latest release 0.3 of HullCamVDS, you must also update the Cacteye plugin to the version AlbertVDS posted a few days ago.

This mod deletes EVERY SINGLE PART, stock or mod. Along with every active ship or debris.

Sounds like one of the mods you use has one opening or closing curly bracket too many or too few.

Make a backup of your saved game and systematically move mods out of Gamedata to find out which mod is the culprit.

Try to move halve of the total folders to work through the mods faster.

I did have it installed when I ran the game and the problem happened. I took out any "suspicious" mods, including hullcam and this mod. Then I put this mod back in for the screenshot

So does anyone know what could be causing it? I will try removing science redefined.

EDIT: I've tried everything. I'm giving up on this mod until the issue is fixed :/ It's a real shame, I really want to make telescopes...

This issue can't be "Fixed" as it is caused by something on your end, not a problem with the mod. The suggestion by Albert VDS is the best option to find out what you have installed that is causing the problem.

Surely there is a problem with this mod if the "problem mod" caused no issues with any other mod!

It's tedious, I know, but if you don't go through it then we wont be able to help you. It's not a problem which can be fixed by guesing.

Meh is all I have to say... Is it any mod with parts? Or any mod at all? I'm trying to see if I can narrow it down...

EDIT: certainly won't be doing it today. I *might* try tomorrow, or I'll just not bother with this mod. My worst fear is that I won't find the mod which breaks the game in my search, and it will be a huge waste of time...

Many use this mod, only you are having this problem. No, I'd say the problem is certainly not with this mod but with something else you have installed conflicting. Only by following what Albert VDS posted will narrow down what it is conflicting.
