[PARTS] A.S.T.R.A Command and Service modules. [SEEKING TEXTURE ARTIST]

It looks like you need to "set smooth" some of your edges. To better hide the low poly of the sides of the capsule.

Not sure what the setting is called in blender, but that would be where you do it before importing the model to unity.

It would be the smooth shading option in Blender. You're going to need to do some edge loops or smoothing groups so that your hard edges stay hard. Or use the edge split modifier.

Thanks for the help, got all the shading worked out. Option for shading was staring me in the face this whole time.

They look good, but maybe in need of more texturing? You could use the Mk1 LanderCan and Cupola as colour scheme references - I think they have the best colours for painting things stockalike.

Mushroomman is doing the textures. The textures shown in the pics thus far are just my bad sample textures.

I'm so sorry I've been strangely busy recently. I probably won't get any work done on textures for a while yet.

Updated first post with links for preliminary parts pack and raw texture .png's. Please keep in mind, it all unfinished work, and I will be revisiting models as I get time,

(for example:- the lander unit will be revisited to add RCS thrusters and animated landing legs. It may also get the engines moved to an external part.)

As each part is updated, I will announce the changes.

have you seen the "Soyuz-like" Habitat/Orbital module from the "Inflatable"-Station module thread, would be cool if there was one.

This pack is starting to look really good! I'm sorely tempted to download the current parts even though they're not finished yet, but I think I'll wait until things get just a little farther along. Keep up the great looking work though, Gryphorim, I'm certain I'll be downloading this pack when it's 'done'.

Happy Holidays! :D

Okay, so I've been trying to figure out animation, in particular for landing legs. Is it better to use a rigged animation, or to apply keyframes directly to the object? I really have no idea how to do this step.

I am loving the little two man pod.

It is going to have an Eva hatch when finished though right?

Found this and wanted to say I'm liking the look of the pods! I can't help too much, other than to say I'd definitely use these in my game. Keep going on it! :)

Basically, my plan is, I've made the texture plans open for anyone to download, make their own texture and submit it here, and I'll either select the one I like best, or run a poll and pick the best from that.

So far I've been trying to wrap my head around animation, and redesigning the lander part. Also doing preliminary design work for the 3m large pod, thinking something similar to nert's fantastic looking pod, in that it could be used for an aircraft style design. Alternatively I could go with something like Sojourner's high visibility central seat position from page three.
