Mediafire = Popups

It seems anytime I try to download things off of Mediafire, it creates a new tab or a pop-back (pop-up behind the webpage to be more annoying) ads(which my adblocker wont block as it's isn't technically an ad ;.;) which could potentially carry computer viruses. :mad: Has anyone else noticed this recently?

How dare companies offer services for free and then have the audacity to make a cent of two from your download by serving it with ads!

Luckily there's a very simple solution to it:

This is why I host my own files on my own paid-for website.

Now, if you're not willing to pay for your own website then the ads are not that annoying, are they? :D

Seriously, I have been living with the bliss that is Adblock + NoScript for so long that I have forgotten what an aggravating experience filehosts can be :D

I'd love to disable adblock for sites I support, but nobody appears to know how to make non-annoying ads anymore...

There is no excuse for serving virus ridden junk, even if you are trying to make a profit. I don't mind looking at the ads that pay for a website, but as soon as it becomes a security risk, ads are out.
