Edit Default Astronaut names

hello I've been a big KSP player last .19-.20 and now it seems that the game has alot of new features and I'm gonna play it again. I checked out the Astronaut Complex and saw you can hire astronauts however the names of the astronauts lack any variety. I would like to change them to give them more personality in my games

Is there a way to edit the default names so each time you start a new game you won't have to edit them?

I suggest you use Crew manifest:

it adds the same funcionality with the added bonus you can move kerbals around a space station without EVA

yes I'm using this since long time ago but I have to edit them all again If I wanted to start another save

What you're saying is, you'd like to get at/change the list of phonemes from which the program assembles kerbal names, right?

There are two ways, one crew manifest sa already stated or you could be brave and edit the persistent save file with notepad++.
