Can the Mun look like Luna?

Title may be a bit misleading. But what I am saying is that when you look at Mun it looks very 3D. No Light really reflecting off of it. But when you look at Luna it looks like a flat reflective surface, which is awesome, Could we have a similar thing happen in KSP? With all planets and moons? Have minmus be the brightest dot in the Kerbin sky?

That would be cool if they just put a simple sprite or something over distant planets so you can see them in the night sky. Right now Venus is really visible, so it would make sense for you to be able to see Eve. Good idea!

I've thought about this a lot... Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, etc... are very visible in the night sky, naked eye... Heck you can practically see the moons of Jupiter naked eye... You think you'd be able to see the planets from the ground.

i think it all comes down to what is and is not capable in 32 bit + what the limitation of unity is in terms of this sort of thing. would be spectacular to have tho

Unity can show map icons for the distant planets, should be a cinch to make it show low-detail variable sprites.

You often can see Minmus, at least from LKO, as a roughly one- or two-pixel green spot. But it would be neat to see more distant planets.

I think for all planets and moons, they should be represented as a coloured dot in the flight view, with it's size being a little bigger than how big it would be if it were being rendered as the regular planet, and fade dimmer intensity but not opacity depending on how much of the night side is facing you, but never lower than 40% or something.

Though i have not seen this myself it is said you CAN see Jool at KSC on the pad in the night sky, if you know where to look that is
