Hey (first post :P) this is my newest rocket.

I know it is capable of achieving escape velocity / Kerth Orbit, however i have not been able to achieve a lunar landing, I would appriciate if someone better than me could land it on the mun :P, (i\'m not a good pilot XD)

(edit: for some reason it started falling apart on the launch pad after i uploaded it. reuploading a fix ver)

One thing - you only need one Advanced S.A.S. unit, they don\'t work quite the same way as regular S.A.S. units, where more is better.

Well it to balance it I guess because they are around the side, but maybe he should have put it in the center.

Also, you need a parachute! Actually, never mind...just make sure Bob and Bill don\'t find out. =P

:P i guess in my next model i will move the SAS. (thanks for the tip btw didnt know about that one)

and the craft is capable of powered landings (the final stage + its additional fuel tanks on Kearth) so i didnt include a parachute (as its extra wieght and also means i need to put another decupler in.)

I sometimes put my ASAS on the second to last stage(not counting the CM). It depends how big I plan to make my last/lander stage. If not too big then a SAS does well to help ferry my lil nauts on the tail end of the journey.

Otherwise I like your build scheme. It looks very solid. You can probably attach SRB\'s on the bottom of your outer bottom pylons, to help with the initial boost. They don\'t weigh too much and the more help off the pad, the more fuel you have to establish orbit and for TMI(TransMunarInjection).

*WARNING THIS Post will be picture heavy when i can be bother to upload it*

soo what actually happened, i managed to obtain (what looked like a stable munar orbit) and promptly managed to lose it, also i totally love blue screening while posting on forums -.-.)

also thanks samstarman5 :P im an engineering student at college atm so it proves my worth to degree :P, im doing an btec in the electrical side of things atm but i did the mechanical stuff the 2 years before (while i was 14-16 XD)

Edit2: SUCCESS i repositioned the sas so i only need one for the whole craft, and have successfully landed on the mun, however the crew are stranded due to the engine falling off -.- (ill upload screenshots later)

wow that looks efficient. My stock munar rocket is two or three times larger. But then again I like that triple tri coupler 9 engined bottom that gives it that soviet R5 (was it the R5 that had a million engines?) look. Also are you landing on your engine? I\'m trying to land on three improvised legs (decoupler + R8 winglet) but I\'m not having a lot of success. Might budge and get some lander legs mod parts.

Indeed it is, it has some kinks that i could work out (currently working on mk1.5), however i have successfully navigated it to the moons surface two times, and successfully landed it once (if by successful you mean it didnt blow up XD) with some minor adjustments it will have the fuel to safely land and return from the mun) i\'m hoping to record the maiden voyage that returns from the mun :)

I just landed and returned safely. That was amazing. I\'ve been trying it for weeks on a netbook and the framerates just wouldnt allow accurate enough control. Now I\'m home and my desktop makes the galaxy and everything in it look amazing and also made the milestone possible. It felt extra epic that just like in the RL moon landing (well, sort of) I ran out of RCS juice 0,1 seconds after touchdown on the Mun. Journey back was uneventful. Good luck to you, here I\'ll share my massive rocket, it flies like a brick, mainly I think because it is one

Sooo, my rocket design (mk1.75) is capable of reliably getting to the mun, however the craft has been unable to return to kerbin (i either lose my RCS fuel or i collide with the mun :( which kinda sucks) soo i am now working on the 2.00 designation, which is going to heavilly borrow from the M1.25 design. wish me luck :)

Good luck! What are you using for lander \'legs\'? I take it you are trying an RCS only return stage?
