I knew about the cubic, but not landing gear! Why does the CoM move then? :(

The CoM is based off of the numbers in the part description, not its mass when physics load. The struts, fuel lines, small trusses, ladders, and the aircraft landing gear are physicless.

You can test this out by sticking a landing gear on the side of a SRB (more correctly, a SRM) and launch it.

Giggleplex is correct. Landing gear is effectively massless, even though it shows a mass in its stats. Cubic octagonal struts are also massless.

You have it backwards. Landing gear IS massless. Cubic Octagonal strut is effectively massless at only 1 kg.

A little update - part count: 174

- engines are changed: 2 Turbo Jets and 2 of the small Rockomax

- first wing design

- landing gear added

- doing a first 105k orbit with fuel left

- testing the needed landing speed: ~115m/s

btw in atmosphere it flies like a brick but it flies...
