I believe I've tracked own what's going on. If you grab one of the Space Shuttle Engine mod engines, and try running it by toggling an action group, it should behave the same way. I will message dtobi about it. Activate all your engines on the KSO by STAGING.

I suspect it's because my ascent profile is too shallow, because i have FAR my ascent profile has to be much more shallow so i'll try changing the shape in Mechjeb steeper and see

okay, so after some testing i've discovered that the blame is due to Mechjeb and FAR because when mechjeb just barely taps pitch down (even with fine controls) during ascent, it starts an uncontrollable spin that it cant stop. Working now to find out a solution :)

It's actually easier for a user to edit the tga that the command pod uses, and it'll look better than using a new section of geometry slapped on the side.

Yea, I looked at the tga before suggesting it. The unwrapping isn't really beginner friendly. Getting it right would require text warping and a bit of mirroring. It was fairly hard for me to change it, which is why I was suggesting it. Also, if he places the geometry in the right spot, you won't even notice.

Please download the latest version as the craft files included give you a much better LRB separation. I noticed you're still using the previous version I cobbled together.

The new version by Nazari adds a lot more seperatons, but lowers their fuel. The LRBs will separate better and away from the KSO.

Going to have to get that mod!

Well, it flies in FAR, but it's seriously overpowered on launch as others have noted. I was nearly out of the atmosphere before SRB burnout. :)

On landing, I overshot well past KSC but got turned around and glided into the Eastern Island Auxiliary Landing Field out in Booster Bay.

The flight controls got really twitchy once I dropped subsonic, with roll being extremely aggressive. I kept checking to see if physics warp had gotten turned on by accident.

I'm going to play around and see what kind of tuning it takes to tame this beast. :)

What pack is all them parts from the station from? Ive saw that the black decoupler b4 but ive never knew were it came from?

All the parts in that picture apart from the FASA attachment flag decals are from this mod. If I remember right you have to cfg edit to get them into the career tech tree but it's a sweet feeling putting it together over time.

Really? What's your ascent profile? It feels like mine was working fine and then i got all of these problems out of nowhere with takeoff

Of course it's gonna be OP because all rockets take less dV to launch with FAR especially when you have no cargo. Also learn to use the tweakables, fixes roll sensitivity very nicely.

I concur on the roll issues. My joystick is a bit too sensitive (need to mess with the settings) as it is, but even with a light touch I could not control the roll. Being the crack pilot I am (read: not good) I ended up a lawn dart into the runway.

Also, the RCS seems a bit unbalanced. Lateral motion induces a roll, and vertical tends to induce a pitch. Nothing SAS can't control, but it would be nice if I didn't need it. I've been launching without cargo, so it may just be set up to translate with that added mass.

Once FAR support is added properly, this will be my transport shuttle. Can't say enough about how good this mod is. I just wish I had the spare RAM to keep the full textures. I think I'm above 45 mods (at least partially installed), so I'm lucky to even have a stable game! :) Texture Reduction Mod FTW.

Nice pics! you can try toggling the torque on the avionics and cockpit with an action group when you are at a lower altitude. (avionics is probe control).

RCS: I tried to balance The power of the front RCS with the rear, but it will still be a little off.

Is there a way to restore the RPM monitors to the default style? Those of us on linux cannot use alternate RPM skins.

Could you provide us with a change log? There have been four updates today but I have no idea what has happened in any of them.

I will have a change-log shortly.

As long as you have version 1.06 or higher you should be good to go (kerbin_shuttle_orbiter_v106.zip).

v. 1.07 Added improved craft files in the VAB and SPH.

v. 1.08 Linux compatibility issue with the MFD fix.

v. 1.08 should be the last hotfix for a while.
