Nassault delivers another gorgeous piece of work once again. His latest, Gravioli, is inspired by Gravity, the BFD trailer and a little game about Kerbals flying into space. Enjoy!

i dislike Nassault videos

I feel the fire of the community coming...

Why, really?

Also, I'm kinda disappointed. Nassault gets 8/10 dailys. They ARE good, but I want the dailes to show something new, like the "frog" on the mun video, that was hilarious.

...Becauase, like many, I'm subscribed to Nassault, so I know all these videos. Perhaps just leave a note for new people to the daily?

I saw it last night and I liked it. Some time ago I've asked him about making something tied to Gravity but he didn't respond and I forgot about it.

For you who dislike it - don't forget he was not making a KSP style remake. This was a tribute video, so you can't expect all the tense action you saw in the cinema.

Although, if only he had the permition to use the original soundtrack, especially while deorbiting... It would've made it awesome. The soundtrack was an important emotional part of the movie, especially in the last part of it.

I watch every video he makes and all of them are awesome but they are not perfect - I have in mind particularly these damn typos in subtitles. Every time this breaks immersion and to fix them it would take literally 3 minutes.

Although I agree with you, the typos break immersion, in order to remove them you'd have to re-render the entire film; Not just the parts with the typos. This could take hours depending on how fast your processor is. I find the best solution to this is just to watch my films through at least 3 times. Just to make sure everything is absolutely perfect before I render.

Nassault makes good Videos, but not perfect ones. Nassaults Gravioli isn't really like Gravity, because in Nassaults movie the Kerbals flew to a Station and then the Kerbal returned, but in the real movie they had to fly to the Chinese station and than they were able to return, the ISS was damaged. You can see the changes in nassaults version positive or negative. I made a "KRAVITY" Movie, which is based on Gravity too, I made it in German (I'm from Germany too;)) but its more realistic than Nassault's. I would be happy if you would have a look at it, if the feedback is good enough I would make it in english too.. :)

I think Nassaults Gravioli is good, but that's not his best one.

Excuse me for my (hopefully) not to bad english:)

So do I by now. Saw too many of them. They're quite long, and the music starts to sound dull.

Don't get me wrong, I don't criticize his cinematographic skills. Au contraire, I am still amazed by the camera angles, timing, et cetera, but it doesn't feel very original anymore.

Oh and what Destroyer said; those frogs were hilarious!

This is really cool although I don't understand German. Are you planning on doing some English subtitles? :)

I understand what you mean. I agree, there isn't enough action in his movies, but keep in mind that he's recording actual KSP. He's not rendering and making an animation in some third party software, like people do when they make Minecraft movies. It's very difficult to do some action scenes in KSP.

i dislike Nassault videos

This post is like going in a pizza parlor while shouting "I don't like pizza's!".

That would be true if this was was a Nassault Parlor, but instead it's Video Wednesdays so it's more akin to a restaurant which lets any cook bring out their meals for people to try as it doesn't have a fixed menu.

The only deviation is that Nassault is getting his "pizzas" on the menu a lot more than everyone else and if someone walks into that restaurant and says "I dislike pizzas", it's useful to know because that's one person who won't want to come to the restaurant everytime pizza is the day's dish and that's not even telling of how many people who don't want the pizzas yet say nothing.

i dislike Nassault videos

text correction: Found 4 errors in text:

1. Proper noun, (i)

2. Unknown string, (dislike, nassault)

3. Punctuation, (videos.)

4. Fragment, (consider revision)

Edit - quote unintelligible because I have no clue why ( was what I got for the quote's font but that just gave out unintelligible symbols) so I changed the font style so it can be read but isn't in bold anymore.

LEIK OMIGAWD U MAED UR POST USIN BOLD TEXT AN DATS HORRIBRU FUR FORUM ENGRISH GU FIX WHUT U SED - should I say that to you? Because that's how you come off, complaining about how, on a forum for people who play a rocketry game involving little green men, someone didn't consult the rules of English and grammar. I'm wondering why you didn't even comment on the actual topic of this thread, English policing seems a peculiar time to spend browsing Video Wednesday threads.

I didn't see Gravity, it didn't come off as an interesting story to me, so I didn't particularly find this video that interesting, perhaps if I saw someone accidentally winding up in this situation with that mod which introduces water/food/CO2/waste, it'd be interesting or amusing for the time spent watching them scramble to save the Kerbal or at least fix up some orbital mechanics with the jetpack.

I actually tend to avoid Video Wednesdays myself whenever I see Nassault as the video's creator.

The following is completely opinionated and most likely pedantic:

I kinda enjoyed "Jeb" but it felt like the ending was being dragged out and I'm no fan of some of the camera angles that put what would be an active piece to be watching into a not quite pleasing display - it feels like there was too much blank space.

"Bill" had an interesting one I hadn't thought of happening in KSP before but I think it had too long a runtime for its content and short conclusion.

"Bob" looked interesting... until they pulled out a modded solution which just felt "Anything goes!" to solve a problem.

Then I gave up on caring to look at more of Nassault's stuff at "Pale Blue Dot", takes forever to do anything so unfortunately I was bored and didn't want to wait so I kept skipping ahead to see if anything happened to be struck with more slow plodding of nothing, then there's that speech at the end which makes it feel like KSP is set up as a cameo for that video and it's instead a tribute to what sounded like was a speech done decades a go because the Kerbals certainly didn't add anything to that video except being cheaper than a fully animated thing about astronauts going from Earth to the next habitable system unless something actually happened in one of those minutes I kept skipping because nothing happened, yes I'm ranting about a YouTuber which has no impact on my life. :P

Thanks for the crit. Gravioli definitely was not my best video. I'll be sure to put more effort into any future films I make, and I hope to make higher quality films than this one.

Regarding Jeb, I can see how the ending was dragged out. I also wish I had a more conclusive shot. Like Jeb grabbing onto the ladder or something. It was an older video, though, so my technique has changed then. I agree with you.

Bill was probably one of my better videos, it does run a little long for what happens. I agree again.

You're right about Bob. I really had a hard time creating that story, and ended up doing just that. I figured I would use it as a test for more enhanced visuals instead of a story. For the third time, I agree.

However, as for Pale Blue Dot, I am going to disagree. So what you're saying is you didn't watch it, but still have a strong opinion about it.

It's not like Gravity because it isn't Gravity. I didn't want too closely replicate something that already exists.

I appreciate your crit, and all other constructive feedback both bad and good, thanks guys

Well I'm happy you're looking forward and still doing what you like with these films.

I'm not quite a rocketry enthusiast so that might be a big part of why I'm not much of a fan and yes, my criticism isn't valid on Pale Blue Dot because I didn't sit through the entire thing, I don't want to put you down on that, it was my personal preference that found it to not be my thing, it did seem nicely planned out though and thinking back on it, you ended it nicely (the bit just before the credits and onwards).

I'd also like to say my emotive opinion on Pale Blue Dot that I wrote out there and then was probably due to just getting frustrated at seeing the other two posts I was replying to, if it wasn't for that I probably would have just left it as "It's not my thing" rather than that giant paragraph.

Grawr, KSP forums telling me to split up onwards into two words and me believing it!
