Overengineered launch vehicles. My biggest yet has placed more than 50 tons of payload on a trans-Dunian insertion. It was only supposed to put 50 tons into orbit, so the transfer stage almost didn't need to use any of its fuel.

Would you mind giving a pic of this monstrosity?

... Starting again to create a design a 'meaningful' series of missions, the craft to suit them and an overall purpose. Getting distracted while waiting for transfer windows and ... (redo from start)

I find it pleasantly surprising the number of people here who are saying things like 'small', 'unmanned' rather than 'huge', 'moar boosters', 'weapons', etc. I suppose I should have expected it and the huge/moar has a certain appeal of its own but I think this thread shows that KSP players like to think more than most :-) Someone should nudge Rowsdower.

I favor one thing for a while, then move on to another. The only kind of craft I've not yet made is a space station or planet/ moon base. I'm not good at docking (but that's because I've not yet felt the need to go that route much). I've done boats, rovers, planes, SSTOs; as well as "traditional" rockets. I like to test and compare engines.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
