That's an interesting idea. Occasionally spawn an asteroid/comet in a very long elliptical orbit around Kerbol that's has some "bonus" science (greater than the current 60 science per asteroid). Obviously, capturing it would be hard.

This has been suggested before here. I believe I left a reply on it somewhere that outlined how this is pretty much existing in the game, if you take some aspects form it such as mach effects and comet generation, though I may be wrong. I'm all for this, but I would like to see other things first - things like contracts, funding, public opinion, an actual Kerbal population. I think Kerbin needs some attention. As of yet, I haven't had any real desire to explore it. Only the Nova Crater, Desert, and North pole. I spent a matter of minutes at the crater and pole, but haven't yet reached the deserts. While I can see it being more exciting, I cant see it keeping me engaged for a long time - half an hour tops. They should make it beautiful - Like this (Infinity Engine).
