What do you think Kerbal Currency should be called?

Recommended Posts

A lot of real money is called after symbols of power or after (usually archaic) weight units.

I think Kerbal money should be Rocks, that fits both. They may have used a "standard rock" as mass unit, and a Rocket is clearly Kerbal symbol of power.

Lol.

Assuming you mean rocks as in just rocks, how valuable would an asteroid be?

I'd say it should be something like the previously suggested bits, bobs, and doodads.

£/$1

= 1 bit

100 bits

= 1 bob

10 bobs (1000 bits)

= 1 doodad

100 doodads

= 1 doohickey

10 doohickeys

= 1 thingamajig

Something like this, no?

Calling kerbal money "boosters" makes for some amusing phrases:

"I want to go out tonight, but I haven't got enough boosters."

"Of course he does well with women, he's got a lot of boosters."

"Boosters are the root of all evil."

"Boosters can't buy you love."

"Jeb has more boosters than sense."

and my favorite:

"More boosters, more problems."

If I could correct you slightly, its not "boosters are the root of all evil" it`s "The love of boosters is the root of all evil" boosters are not evil per se but the love of them leads to many problems...

Myself `I got boosters in my pocket but I still can`t find no love`

there`s always the ABBA song, "boosters, boosters, boosters"

and the ever present "I got my mind on my boosters and my boosters on my mind"

Whilst it is funny, I don`t think `boosters` is right. It does not start with a `K`, hehe.

The kerbal language seems to have every word starting with a `K`. I think *every* word in the kerbal language starts with a `K`. That is because their mouths can`t say words that don`t start with a `K` (either that or they have a weird grammar rule saying you define a noun by the fact it starts with a `K` which is also possible)

I think their kash is measured in Kredits (but that looks a bit too much like Reddit when written now I look at it)

Krona?

How did I not think of that one? My new favorite.

The planet names would seem to dispute this.

They most certainly would now you mention it.

I must say sals suggestion sounds ok, munnies although there may be a connection to Mun drawn where one was not before (maybe they are what you spend to get to Mun? Munnies? Are they a currency *only* used to buy spacecraft parts?)
