Soyuz Sentinel 1A on board launch camera

Salutations for BobCat for nailing the Soyuz flight sequence. :) Everything, from the takeoff to fairing separation is modeled perfectly. Engine hotstart also is perfectly doable with it, and while I thought the engine fairings tumbled too much, I was wrong. :)

yes, basically, on soyuz, the 'cross struts' at the base of the boosters are severed while the 4 boosters engines are still running at low thrust with what remains in the fuel tanks / engines fuel lines. this thrust make the boosters accelerate slightly more than the rest of the rocket, 'pushing' it on it's top connection point - which causes the boosters to open from the bottom like that, before they are released (a release valve opens at the top to release the remainder of Lox, which makes the boosters tumble)

after all, a soyuz rocket weight is entirely supported by it's 4 boosters until launch.

Yes separation look very KSP like, in KSP the seperatrons on top rotate top of booster outward, while center of mass is close to engine.
