Makes sense. After a few minutes of waiting, I started wondering if someone tried to DDoS the forums again like last April.

The forums have a daily maintenance schedule which typically takes place about 3:50pm AEST (convert that to whatever timezone you use; it's approximately 5:50am GMT), which I believe is primarily for the purpose of backing up the forum database, in order to prevent another incident like April 2013, when months of data was lost and the forums had to be rolled back. It takes up to five minutes, but is nothing to worry about.
